It’s still a relatively calm summer at the Happiest Place on Earth but as the temps continue to climb so do the crowd levels! Our visit this weekend is a little light just because the Resort is in full summer mode when few things are closed or under refurbishment. Still, there’s several sights and projects to behold!
Can you believe we’re already seeing HALLOWEEN TIME in the parks? Yep, traces are starting to arrive for the popular fall holiday with construction walls up in the Redwood Creek area in support of the upcoming Oogie Boogie Bash up-charge parties.
Beyond that, we’ll take in the new Mickey and Friends Band-tastic Cavalcade which fills in the gap between last week’s departure of Mickey’s Soundsational Parade and next week’s dusting off of the Main Street Electrical Parade which will creak through the park nightly to close out the summer season through September 30.
Meanwhile, progress continues with a few on-going projects including final touch-ups on the yet-to-be-completed Pixar Pals Parking Structure and major construction on the new Marvel-themed Land. We’ll also check in on other small bric-a-brac projects around the resort.
Plus, in proper scale proportion to this week’s small update, we have a little merch run for you at the end with some new items that are catching eyes and draining wallets. All of this and more in our latest park pictorial. ENJOY!
Get Merrier
It’s not really beginning to look a lot like Christmas just yet — heck we’re not anywhere near FALL at this point but the Disneyland Resort is already looking ahead to welcoming people to the Merriest Place on Earth with the return of the Disney Holidays from November 8, 2019, through January 6, 2020.

Pixar Pals Parking Structure
The plaza area in-between Mickey and Friends is coming along. It’s decidedly much more verdant than before!
It looks like a new elevator well is under construction next to the current elevator well on the Mickey and Friends side. Much-needed!
Not a whole lot of visual progress on the new bridge that will become the main walkway from the structure to the parks but it’s important to remember that this was all supposed to open in the fall!

Around Disney California Adventure
Looks like Oogie Boogie Bash prep is well under way in the Redwood Creek area which will transform nightly for the up-chage party event and promises the area will become a hauntingly beautiful dream-space of color, sound, light and shadows. Stories emerge from the darkest night to create the wondrous and ethereal world of the Disney villains.

The support wires for the Red Car Trolley end half way down the walkway heading towards Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!.
Walls have gone up around the FastPass area in front of the attraction and take up most of the walkway in front, as well.
FastPass Distribution has been moved to a cart closer to the Hyperion Theater.
The Standby Entrance has been moved off to the side closer to the gift shop.
The FastPass Entrance remains through the main front gates of the attraction.

Back to Batuu!
The logo on Dok-Ondar’s ledger. You might assume that the logo read’s DOK since the last two letters appear to be an O and a K. However, these Aurebesh characters are actually DOA. An unfortunate acronym that in this case stands for Den of Antiquities.
Looks like there’s plenty of personality chips to go around. Still no backpacks. Wallets are still in stock.
Fun artwork at the Milk Stand.
For some reason, only two turnstiles were open at the exit so there was a line to get OUT of the park. Pretty bad.
Around the Resort
Not much visible on the info booth in the Esplanade.
Long lines in the morning for tickets. We saw lots of people at the turnstiles taking advantage of the AP discount tickets.
You know it’s not going to be a quiet day when the parking lines are backed-up out of the structure.
