It was a soggy weekend at the Disneyland Resort as a brief bout of sprinkles befell the land off and on. Despite the damper on the festivities, the resort continues to be a-buzz with activity in just about every corner of the property.

Star Wars themed land construction continues to see rapid vertical construction that will soon block visibility into the land as show buildings reach towards the horizon.

Meanwhile, there was more galactic fun as Disneyland celebrated Star Wars Day with a small selection of May the Fourth Be With You offerings including red and blue churro “lightsabers”, special photo-ops, and special merchandise.

Meanwhile, Guardians of the Galaxy lit up box offices this weekend with the release of the VOL 2 sequel and the attraction inches closer to its debut at the end of the month. New finishing touches continue to arrive as tests of the attraction are on-going.

Plus, we’ll take a look at newly-refilled Rivers of America, newly-returned Snow White Grotto, and a merchandise run at the end. All of this and more in our latest pictorial update! ENJOY!

AP Perk: $1 Popcorn Refills Return

The Annual Passholder Exclusive Popcorn Bucket refill program is back once again. You must purchase the $15 bucket and between now and July 30, 2017 you can get unlimited $1 refills of popcorn! Although it looks similar to the previous AP Days popcorn bucket, the design IS new and you cannot use the previous bucket for the refills during this new promotion.

Tie Fighter popcorn buckets are still available.

Star Wars Land

You can see the new train tracks for the Disneyland Railroad are already starting to get laid as alien rockwork springs up around them.

Fly, Peter! Or I guess… Jack?

Word on the street is that the return of Fantasmic! this summer will see the Peter Pan scene replaced. Other rumors abound for changes to the show including Rapunzel replacing Snow White in the iconic princess segment.

Disney has also officially confirmed that guests will find Mickey Mouse in more scenes than ever before, and they’ll discover new roles for Genie from “Aladdin,” “Tangled,” and “The Lion King.”

Speaking of Fantasmic!, there’s all sorts of related bric-a-brac as the show continues through its rehearsals.

There’s only 19 more days before Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT makes its debut at Disney California Adventure!

The movie just came out this week but the ride’s not ready quite yet!

May the Fourth Be With You

We’re painting the churros red, we’re painting the churros red. We dare not stop or waste a drop, so let the paint be spread. In celebration of Star Wars Day (May the Fourth Be With You) Disney is selling red and blue dusted churros to resemble Lightsabers. They are merely colored and unlike the “Gold Churros” that debuted in celebration of Pirates of the Caribbean, these do not have a different flavor.
