Mickey’s Toontown is back on the map and the land has been tooned up with refreshed favorite areas and all new areas such as the CenToonial Park play area. Replacing a former sitting area and outdoor vending location, this new park-themed park offers exploration for younger guests with sensory experiences for guests of all ability types.
CenTOONial Park could easily be passed off as a play area for kids to run and play but there’s a few extra special touches here that go beyond just a playground. There is a focal tree in the land referred to as the Wishing Tree with colorful lanterns. Giant tree roots spring up out the bright green padded ground that can be used for climbing and playing but look a little closer and some of the root have carved in brail dots spelling out words like PLAY and DREAM.
The most colorful aspect of CenTOONial Park is the Mickey and Minnie fountain which is purposely designed to be an interactive water play feature. The whimsical fountain streams water in all directions shooting playfully from flowers, cattails and clamshells. Lower level water tables feature hidden Mickey spraying fountains that welcome playful hands to splash and play. Speakers in the area play fun and gentle music including the lyric version of “My Happy Place,” part of Toontown’s new score.
