The Disneyland Resort is moving into a spring that should promise to be anything but slow. Next weekend Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge welcomes the final crown jewel of the expansion with the opening of the new Rise of the Resistance attraction.
Holiday removal continues around the resort including “it’s a small world” Holiday and eventually Haunted Mansion Holiday which will undergo a lengthy refurbishment. Snow White’s Scary Adventures will also be getting a thorough dose of TLC.
This update also contains a progress check on updates at Mickey and Friends Parking, Avengers Campus Marvel land, and Project Stardust. We’ll scope a newly Hyperspace-free Space Mountain, see the return of the Star Wars: The Path of the Jedi show, and so much more.
After offering a HUGE update last week with tons of merch, we’ve got another MASSIVE merch run for you today with a look at new Star Wars merch, Pixar merch, and much more in this latest park pictorial. ENJOY!
How to Get Your Rise On
Disneyland finally confirmed exact details for the “boarding process” that will be used for the grand opening of the upcoming STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE attraction coming to Disneyland’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. For those who joined last year for Virtual Queues when the land opened, the process for the new ride should be familiar.
Prepare for Snow
Snow White’s Scary Adventures is closed for an extensive refurbishment. The extended downtime will bring a heaping spoonful of magic to the classic princess story with new show scenes and a reinvigorated experience.

The new building behind Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters is pretty big.
A look from the ground at how massive the new building really is. Our understanding is that this building will be backstage support to replace buildings that are disappearing for Marvel expansion.
The show building for the Phase 2 Marvel expansion will fill in the skyline on the right side of the photo.
Several interesting sight-line intrusions will be visible between Cars Land and Avengers Campus.
Around Disneyland
The Disney Holidays are gone and the last remaining remnants of decor should be headed back to storage in the coming days.
Posters in the entrance tunnels are updated to reflect the new RISE OF SKYWALKER updates on Star Tours and the newly reverted Space Mountain which is no longer running its Hhyperspace version.
No more garlands or bunting.
Still some signs of snow, though.
Cast Member previews under way for STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE which is less than a week from officially opening!
R2-D2 has been seen in the land the past few weeks.
To find him, just look for an amorphous crowd of people moving through the land like a swarm of locusts.
“it’s a small world” Holiday is closed for removal of the holiday overlay. It reopens just in time for Haunted Mansion to go down for its holiday removal and subsequent extended refurbishment.
The Happiest Cruise that ever sailed will be returning by January 18th.
Haunted Mansion Holiday remains open through January 20th before going down for a lengthy refurbishment.
Mark Twain is in dry dock.

Stopped to admire the little details on The Snackin’ Place ODV cart including those little tiny doors.
High on a hill was a lonely goatherd, lay ee odl lay ee odl lay hee hoo!
The north side of the Tomorrowland entrance still has some scaffolding and scrims.
The south-side remains seemingly complete but awaiting landscaping, here’s a photo of how it looked last week.
Both Space Mountain and Star Wars: Path of the Jedi have returned to Tomorrowland.
No more Hyperspace Mountain.
New stairs are still underway near Star Trader.
Dole Whip, I Presume.
A new set of stackable Tiki Totem bolws are available for $14 each!
We spotted these synergy posters last year but had a hard time getting a clear view of them. It’s a little easier to see now with less people.
Tarzan’s chlorine treatment was quite pungent on Saturday morning. Frothy, too.
These Mickey gingerbread cookies are sold year-round.
These clearly fish-shaped cookies seemed to be pulling double duty as Olaf cookies.
Maurice’s Treats tempting sweets…
Churro Gears are $5.49 and come with choice of one house-made sugar, Powdered, Cinnamon, Butter Cookie, or Peanut Butter & Jelly.
Maurice’s Pieces are $5.49 and available in Cake, French Toast, and Chocolate flavors and you can also get them coated in the above sugar flavors.

Around Disney California Adventure
Saturday turned out to be one of a handful of days over the past few months that required the closure of Mickey and Friends parking structure. Busy days ahead!
The performance corridor seems so wide without the festival booths.
Speaking of Festivals… Lunar New Year gets under way this Friday.

One of the only holiday decorations left in Cars Land.
Red Car Trolley track re-route still in progress in front of Mission: Breakout.
Holiday menu items are disappearing and random new ones are appearing such as these Asada Fries and Apple Pie Funnel Cake Fries from Award Wieners.
If you still haven’t tried the new menu at Lucky Fortune Cookery it’s got some really solid options including this side of four Korean-style Garlic-Serrano Chicken Wings ($7.99). Mobile-order-ready and great for a quick pick-me-up in-between meals. The wings are slightly spicy, not as sweet as you might imagine for an Asian style wing. Super crispy and the green onion gives a nice little pop of contrast.
Outdoor Vending Cart Hot Food Bags have been given a major design upgrade.
A week into its operation as an Annual Passholder exclusive location, the Alfresco Tasting Terrace is still posting waits of an hour or more.
Anaheim Ducks Day cotton candy was still available on Saturday.

New elevators at Mickey and Friends seem like they should be coming into operation very soon.
Most notable in the evenings, the extra set of two elevators will help with the crazy demand when people are leaving the parks.
We’re hearing the now-defunct ESPN Zone is being utilized for backstage support including rehearsal space for entertainment.
Jamba Juice showing no visible signs of progress from the outside.
Kinda weird that these billboards are still here and especially that it still says WELCOME since this area is now used exclusively for unloading only.
