Better late than never! We’ve got a new pictorial for you to enjoy that includes a bunch of new Halloween merch. creeping in a few weeks ahead of the official launch of Disney’s Halloween Time.
We’ll also get a pulse check on on-going projects including the new parking structure at Mickey and Friends, the whole new Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge land, and new shops in the works at Downtown Disney. Plus, an update on lack of on-going work at the site of the new Disneyland Hotel. Yep, it might be off the table.
We’ve also seen a host of new projects crop up around the parks including Main Street and in New Orleans Square. New attraction refurb-related closures for Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, Haunted Mansion, and Matterhorn Bobsleds.
Of course, a full merch run for you — two in fact — since we’ll have a whole section dedicated to just the new Halloween merch. All of that and more in our latest pictorial. ENJOY!
Halloween Creeps In
As is typical, the dog days of summer at the usually mean the beginnings of Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort. This year we’ve got our first dose of Halloween merch ready to enchant for the next 74 days. You read that correctly… 74 days until Halloween! Can you make it?

Halloween may be 74 days away but the Halloween Time celebration at the Disneyland Resort is right around the corner!
Halloween Time Returning
There’s only 18 days left until the September 7 start of Disney’s Halloween Time! Take a look below at what you can expect to encounter!

Haunted Mansion Holiday
Jack Skellington is currently on hand ready to wreck the halls once more for the next several months. Are you excited for the return of the Haunted Mansion Holiday?
Looks like the walkway in front of the Mansion might be widened in anticipation of increased foot traffic for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Around Disney California Adventure
Not much visible progress yet at Tough To Be a Bug now since the walls have gone up.
This “attraction” has been in Disney California Adventure longer than the Tower of Terror. An opening day original! It’s been modified over the years but still stands.
We tried the new Fish Tacos at Cocina Cucamonga! We used mobile order and found our table. System works great although we did notice one setback with this new dish. We wanted to order sauce on the side which is not a customization we were able to make in the app. The idea also struck us that you can’t do other customizations such as easy ice, extra ice. Just ICE or NO ICE. At any rate, the system works pretty well.
The sauce is subtly spicy but provided in a very small quantity so as to not overwhelm the dish. The rice and beans are same menu standbys from when the menu first updated earlier this year. Overall, this is a very great dish that doesn’t feel “theme-parky”. We ordered ours with a side of guac and it was a great match.
We also had a Taco Salad at Rancho del Zocalo. The shell is crispy and delicious.
The water still looks pretty gnarly in Paradise Bay.
World of Color continues on through its extensive refurb.
Still no neon on the LOUNGE portion of the Lamplight Lounge marquee.
Looks like lines are still a thing for the upstairs lounge. It really seems the whole restaurant should be changed to full menu through-out. People seem completely confused by the two separate lines every time we walk by.
Who’s your friend who likes to hide?
For the second time now we’ve come to Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff to find that almost all of the Memory Refresher flavors are unavailable. Cherry was the only flavor available at 12pm. They told us to try back after 1:30. What??
Around Disneyland
Main Street beautification projects in progress.
Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room is closed, set to return “Fall 2018“
Still waiting on Mobile Order for this location. Sounds like that might be coming sooner than later. Not a moment to soon with Halloween crowds around the corner and no sign in sight of heat waves cooling until at least end of next month!
More side-walk widening is our guess.
No merch cart. Feels nice here without the claustrophobia.
The cart is moved over near the exit, works much better over there.
We expect we’ll be able to head into this new space “Fall 2018”, as well.
Mural be gone!
This mural is still here for now.
Matterhorn Bobsleds are closed. Yes, again!
Face Painting and letter art.
No Matterhorn FastPasses but you can get “it’s a small world.”
Space Mountain reminding you to download the Play app. We tried, this is just not for us. Do you enjoy it?
Indoor air conditioned portion of the queue is much appreciated.
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
Mickey and Friends Parking Struture
The new structure progresses along.
Our best guess so far on what to expect with the new parking structure going up next to Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. pic.twitter.com/b8UfnoYlwA

Looks like the second level of Mickey and Friends will connect to the new structure.
Heartbreak Hotel
In what’s becoming a tiring round of news between two decidedly stubborn parties, Disney and the City of Anaheim are deadlocked once again on future development for the Happiest Place on Earth. According to the OC Register, the cause this time is a change of plans and location of the new hotel by Disney forcing the city to revoke previously-approved tax breaks for the mouse on the new project.

Around the Resort
No signs of construction or demolition yet in Downtown Disney. Will they hash out their issues with the City of Anaheim or will these locations return to service?
If and when construction begins on the new hotel this will be the new walkway into Downtown Disney since everything east of these walls up to the Disneyland Hotel will be a construction zone.
Downtown Disney continues zooming along with its enhancements.
Blackcraft and Ballast Point continue along. Looks like a nice indoor/outdoor terrace will be coming shortly.
Wetzels reopens later this year. I’d love to see some innovative eats here in the near future.
Salt & Straw continues moving along with the new upper terrace work for Naples.
Napolini is closed during the renovation but Naples remains open while it gets a new entrance.
Paint, paint, paint!

Retro Family Fun!
MouseInfo has been partnered with the Howard Johnson Anaheim for quite some time and when we were invited to come check out the new rooms we were pleased to jump at the chance to take a look inside. The new rooms in the Building 1 Tower were welcomed in just a few weeks ago and feature an impressive makeover that updates accommodations to meet the more modern needs of today’s families.
