Just a day after a mega storm dumped buckets of water on Southern California, the Disneyland Resort continued to buzz with activity.
The 8th Annual Celebrate Gospel event brought a joyful noise to Disney California Adventure once again. Also buzzing in the park was continued slow reveal of the facade for the former Tower of Terror which now dons a much more vibrant paint scheme as it prepares for its transition into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT.
Meanwhile, at Disneyland, spring is starting to make itself seen with floral arrangements, window displays, and shop decor reflecting a more colorful season yet to bloom. Of course, a whole new land is awaiting to bloom at the back of the park with the continued progress of the Star Wars themed land which was recently confirmed for a 2019 opening.
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is also expanding its presence with even more merchandise for the film starting to appear on store shelves including the new costume version of Belle’s new yellow ballgown from the live action film.
Of course, we’ll have another merch run to help drain your wallet of those income tax refunds. All of this and more in our latest park pictorial! ENJOY!

Celebrate Gospel
A true highlight for us every year at Disney California Adventure is the fabulous CELEBRATE GOSPEL event. Held once again at Stage 17 this year, the eight annual return of the event brought a great group of talent who filled the area with a truly joyful noise.

AP Daze
AP Days has entered its second week at Disneyland and even with a persistent drizzle and threat of rain, the lines did not wane at opening.
The exclusive AP Days button this week features the Cheshire Cat.
Looks like Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham and Robin Hood and Friar Tuck remain in the exclusive character rotation here.
When you catch bae sneaking a glance.
AP Days merch is apparently available at Disneyana but there was none on display and the Cast Member inside had no idea what I was talking about, she pointed me to Starcade.
If you want to attend the AP Days screenings at the Opera House, you’ll want to secure a wristband for admission.
Unfortunate that on President’s Day weekend that Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln closes at 3pm every day.
Spring Awakening
Even though we still have a full month or so left of winter, Disneyland is already anticipating spring in the shops and window displays.
Cinderella isn’t being fooled by the spring decor. She had her Fairy Godmother whip her up a winter-appropriate version of her dress. And its fur lined! I suspect mink.
The shops around the parks are prepared for the weather in anticipation of visitors who might not be. Umbrellas with adorable designs available for purchase.
Star Wars Land
Another little shack in Frontierland. This one along the new train track route.
Tom Sawyer Island
Sailing Ship Columbia is nearly back to its full height.
Around Disneyland
Extensive refurbishment of Snow White Grotto still underway. You can see at the top of the refurb wall the entire hill has been striped of its faux logs and rock-work.
Prince Ali and Princess Jasmine are now at the Fantasy Fair since Moana has booted them out of their own Oasis.
Star Tours is open despite construction walls around half of the entrance.
Keeping the Piano dry inside the Refreshment Corner.
Because sometimes your inner child needs to eat like a child.
The umbrellas in Critter Country have the most adorable patches.
Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT
More of the Tower of Terror facade has been revealed showing more of the vibrant paint job.
Disney confirmed details that the attraction’s opening will come with a super-hero sized summer marketing campaign. Summer of Heroes will launch with the opening of the attraction on May 27, 2017 and last through September 10, 2017. It brings with it a whole slew of new, year-round experiences…
Around Disney California Adventure
Work continues on Grizzly River Run.
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail is also still closed.
Street banners promoting the BEAUTY AND THE BEAST sneak.
The recent winds did a number on Spider-Man and Captain America meet and greet.
Around the Resort
The area of the fire last week is currently blocked off on the Daisy level of the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure. A fire here destroyed four cars and damaged four more.

While the pool is closed, the facades facing it are also being refurbished at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.
Still not much in the way of visible work on the new Splitsville location coming to Downtown Disney.
Something there that wasn’t there before
Disney confirmed last week a big push for the upcoming BEAUTY AND THE BEAST that will include an enchanting overlay of the story into Fantasyland at Disneyland. The Village Haus will receive a temporary new theme change and brand new menu to support the film amongst a bunch of other new offerings.

‘Beauty and the Beast’ Merch
BEAUTY AND THE BEAST merch for the upcoming live-action film has been in the parks for a few weeks now but more merch has started to appear…
The movie version of the new Belle ballgown complete with golden accessories.
Blinged out.
All within the span of about a minute, I heard THREE different little girls comment to their parents about how strange the Belle doll looked. It’s unfortunate that a poorly conceived face for the doll may lead to a marked decline in sales.
A girl who was about four years old commented “Mommy, I think they accidentally messed up her face on this doll.” Another around age seven noted to her mother with just, “Belle looks weird.”
