It was a pretty huge weekend at the Disneyland Resort with the two biggest developments being the debut of the brand new Magic Happens parade and the return of the Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Fesetival. There was still other work to highlight including crazy crowds and on-going construction of Avengers Campus Marvel expansion and refurbishments including Haunted Mansion, Snow White’s Scary Adventures, and King Arthur Carousel.
Of course, a little merch run awaits you at the end amongst other surprises folded into this latest park pictorial. ENJOY!
Big Changes at the Top
After years of will-he-or-won’t-he debate, Robert A. Iger will officially be stepping down as CEO for The Walt Disney Company. In his place, effective immediately, will be Bob Chapek who most recently served as Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products.
It occurs on a daily basis at the Happiest Place on Earth but now MAGIC HAPPENS is also the name of a new parade at Disneyland! Check out our in depth coverage of the new parade that blends a world of whimsy and magic with fantastic new floats, costumes, and music paying tribute to some of Disney’s most magical stories.
Wine and Dine
The 2020 Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival is back once again this year and aside from a bunch of new menu items to nosh, nibble, and sip, the offerings should be pretty familiar from the past few years.

Operation: Playtime! – Featuring the Green Army Patrol is a small musical atmosphere entertainment offering at Disney California Adventure that features the iconic green TOY STORY soldiers near Pixar Pier and it seems that women have finally been allowed to join the ranks!
RISE and Shine!
We continue to advise that the hour-and-a-half period before Disneyland park opening continues to be very busy at the Disneyland Resort. Expect atypical slowdown on the streets, in the parking lots, and with all lines you encounter once you get off your car. Fans are still very eager to experience the brand new groundbreaking STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE attraction so crowds remain very heavy in the early mornings to secure those very limited numbers of Boarding Group numbers.
We still strongly advise on aiming to be parked no later than 7am if you want to try to secure a boarding group.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
We have not heard confirmations on rumors that progress has paused on the new Toontown attraction in light of coronavirus closures in China and Tokyo. From the look of the construction site last week, it seems like not much is changing week over week.

Star Wars X TOMS
If you’re at Curl Surf in Downtown Disney, you can pick yourself up one of several different kinds of STAR WARS X TOMS shoes. The kind folks at TOMS sent us some shoes in return for sharing it with our readers here on MouseInfo. After we got them in the mail, we couldn’t help but to take them with us straight to Batuu!
When it comes to the STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE Virtual Queue / Boarding Group process at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, no result is typical but we were equipped with an understanding for how the process worked from this earlier info guide. If you like to live vicariously through other people’s experiences, we invite you now to follow along on our process for enjoying STAR WARS: RISE OF THE RESISTANCE on its first official Saturday of operation at Disneyland!
