The Happiest Place on Earth was shining bright with rainbows this weekend as the park played host once again to Gay Days Anaheim. As part of the festivities, a slew of colorful merchandise and treats were released.
Meanwhile, Halloween Time roared on at the Disneyland Resort while Project Stardust projects with Tomorrowlands entrance re-do also moves along. The Avengers Campus Marvel themed land also continues to see rapid construction time tables long with the Mickey and Friends and Pixar Pals parking structures.
We’ll stop in to Oga’s Cantina for a drink or three and also catch a menu change at Docking Bay 7. There’s also a huge merch run for you this week with all the new must-haves for both FROZEN 2 and STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER which both dropped this week. Plant-Based Menu Expansion
Due to positive response to plant-based menu items over the past year or so, Disney Parks will be expanding its efforts to provide more flavor, innovation, and creativity with its menu offerings with even more plant-based offerings around the globe. In short, ALL major quick and table service restaurants will soon be serving up plant-based options at both Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort. The expansion will include hundreds of sweet and savory creations.

Updates at THE VOID
After seeing both Star Wars and Disney Animation at Downtown Disney’s THE VOID, it seems the virtual reality experience is now ready to dive into the world of MARVEL with the upcoming debut of AVENGERS: DAMAGE CONTROL.

Around Disney California Adventure
Walls oddly STILL remain at the entrance of Buena Vista Street around the Red Car Trolley station.
Decorated cookie to look like a donut. If the visual is familiar that’s because this year’s snack-themed D-lish line used such a donut on several pieces of merchandise.
The ugly temporary looking red cart that we’ve seen in Buena Vista Street for a few weeks has shifted farther up the trail and now menaces the beautiful waterfalls of Grizzly Peak.
The area near Grizzly River Run is also marred by the un-themed merch cart.
It looks like the family driving the vintage vehicle parked at the Refreshment Point have finally moved on up the trail.
I wonder where the family has ventured off. In actuality, we saw the vehicle from the trams sitting on a flatbed backstage.
No Mickey all summer and now into fall.
We still haven’t had the chance to try the new menu at Lucky Fortune Cookery. Have you?
Maple-Bacon Bread Pudding ($5.39) from Pacific Wharf Cafe this bread pudding topped with whipped cream, maple glaze and candied bacon. We didn’t taste much candy on the bacon but it wasn’t needed as the bread pudding and the whipped cream on top were more than enough sweet in the dish. The salty-sweet combo works great and definitely large enough to share OR enjoy as a dessert-breakfast option.
Around Disneyland
Walls are up at the Main Street Opera House although the attraction remains open.
Queen of Hearts (still with a mole for some reason) and looking almost nothing like her animated self is greeting guests during Halloween Time.
Walls are up around the planters in front of the Plaza Inn restaurant.
Walls remain up at the Tomorrowland entrance as rocks continue to be removed and the walkway re-sloped and curb free.
This photo captures quite a bit. You can see the new castle paint job in the back but also that some rocks are removed, some are not, walls are up, Gay Days red tees, Halloween Time balloon. No mistaking what exact weekend this photograph was taken.
Scaffolds and scrims remain at both sides of the entrance of Tomorrowland.
There’s also walls still up near Space Mountain.
Loaded Fleet Fries ($9.99) from the Galactic Grill features loaded waffle fries topped with slow-cooked BBQ, pulled pork, cheese, chipotle ranch and cream cilantro-lime coleslaw. Great as a meal on its own or as one fancy side dish or appetizer it’s a solid choice that shouldn’t disappoint.
Lighting rigs up for what we’re hearing is Dancing with the Stars filming to take place in the park.
Similar rigs were also up at the front of the park near the Mickey Jack-O-Lantern.

Looks like there’s some new trees in Fantasyland.

Wait, you see it right?
The Felucian Garden Spread (and Braised Shaak Roast) are now both available for lunch and dinner. The former was a lunch exclusive and the latter a dinner exclusive. This is a welcomed change but comes at the cost of losing the Ithorian Garden Loaf plant-based meal.
Around the Resort
Not much visible progress at the Mickey and Friends / Pixar Pals parking structure which is finishing up final details.
The right-most loading station has now gone behind walls at Mickey and Friends.
The middle loading zone has reopened but we weren’t able to see what was changed. The leftmost station is now being used for loading.

Maleficent Preview
The extended preview of MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL has landed at Disney California Adventure but unlike previous previews which typically overtake the theater for a limited time, this preview is only available after 6pm every day while Mickey’s Philharmagic continues playing daily from opening until 5pm.
