D23 Expo 2022 will be unleashing a BUNCH of shopping opportunities and we recently shared how you can take advantage of Merchandise Mobile Checkout during the event but now we have more details on joining the Shopping Virtual Queue!
A physical standby queue for shopping WIL be available during the event but if you want to try your luck at a Shopping Virtual Queue to minimize your time waiting in lines, here’s what you’ll need to do…
You will have to use BOTH the official Disneyland Resort app AND the official D23 Expo 2022 app in order to be issued a Boarding Group for the Shopping Virtual Queue.
- There’s two ways to join a shopping virtual queue, MOBILE and ON-SITE. For MOBILE: Open the D23 Expo app and navigate to the retail location. Guests do not need to be in the Anaheim Convention Center to join the virtual queue. For ON-SITE: Guests may alternatively scan a QR code using their mobile device camera located at the entrances of eligible locations (see below).
- Tap “Join Virtual Queue” for your desired retail location. There are TWO Shopping Virtual Queue enrollment times, 6 a.m. or 1 p.m. PT.
- You will be navigated to the Disneyland Resort app, where you will be prompted to log in if you haven’t already. Once you are logged in, select the number of guests and tap “Join Virtual Queue.” Guests may join for up to two (2) people and may only join one (1) queue at a time.
- You will see a confirmation screen with an estimated wait time for your Shopping Virtual Queue boarding group.
- You will receive a push notification when your group is ready. Notifications will begin after 10am PST, and you will have one hour to arrive back at your selected retail location after you have been notified.
The Shopping Virtual Queue option will be available at the D23 Expo in the following stores:
- D23 Expo Marketplace
- D23 Expo Marketplace – 3rd Floor Limited Edition Annex
- Mickey’s of Glendale Main Store
- Mickey’s of Glendale Pin Store
- Mickey’s of Glendale x D23 Expo Shop
- Disney Studio Store Hollywood
