Although the size of the special offering changes year to year, one thing Disneyland always does for its birthday is CELEBRATE! On July 17, 2021 the Happiest Place on Earth officially turned 66 years old and a special cavalcade down Main Street with Mickey and some of his pals helped mark the special day.
Beyond the cavalcade moment, fans were able gobble up commemorative 66th anniversary cupcakes (that were sold out by high noon) and commemorative apples that mimicked Mickey’s tuxedo. The festivities were otherwise pretty restrained compared to other years with other festive notables such as commemorative buttons or park maps not on the docket for this year.
Still, it’s always a treat to be inside Disneyland on the special anniversary day and we still get a little sentimental whenever we hear Walt Disney’s original Disneyland dedication right on Main Street USA. Get misty eyed for yourself and watch it in our video above! ENJOY!
