From the opening studio title card, I AM GROOT sets the tone for the quirky (mis)adventures of one of everyone’s favorite Guardians of the Galaxy. Dropping today on Disney+, the photo-realistic shorts are a silly but fun romp through various locales in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

If you watched the opening of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 2. where Groot dances up a storm during an epic battle by the other Guardians of the Galaxy and thought… there should be animated shorts of just this. Well you are in luck because that’s exactly what you’ll find in I AM GROOT.

Vin Diesel returns once more to reprise his role as the voice of the boisterous walking plant with attitude and there are cameos fans are going to love. There’s little Easter Egg surprises too including some of the random junk in the Milano and even an appearance by one of the vyloo creatures that guests may recognize from the queue of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!

The humor here ranges from aww-how-cute swoon to literal laugh-out-loud outrageous. Whatever you’re expecting here is probably right on the mark but it’s still so, so entertaining. Each easily digestible short comes in under 5 minutes making for 20-minutes of joy that can only be descried as: I AM GROOT.
