Fantasmic! is finally back at Disneyland and all the prime spots for the show require a pay-for-play voucher to get into reserved viewing areas for the Fantasmic! Dining Package. There’s FOUR different ways to score a great spot to see the show and it’s hard not to be satisfied with the cheapest option, the $35 per person Hungry Bear Restaurant Fantasmic! On-the-Go Package.
See below for our thoughts on the food, the views, and the process.
EDITOR’S NOTE: This post was updated 01/17/23 with the latest information regarding checking in.
There’s a fixed price for lunch or dinner and the menu is the same for either reservation period. Tax is not included.
- $35.00 per adult (ages 10 and up)
- $25.00 per child (ages 3 to 9)
The view is great. It’s just off center from stage left and gets you access right up to the waterfront. It’s not dead center like higher priced dining packages that are available but, for the price, it’s a very strong contender for your Disney dollars. Although the video below was taken in 2019, it was taken from the approximate location of this viewing area.
Overall, the food is pretty good. It’s slightly upgraded from the restaurant’s regular quick service offerings but it’s not exactly going to be the main reason to book this package. First and foremost, the awesome view of the show is the most compelling part of this experience.
Here’s a complete look at the Hungry Bear Restaurant Fantasmic! On-the-Go Package menu.
The Carolina BBQ Half Chicken boasts a sauce that is well seasoned with a nice sweet and savory contrast. The sides are perfectly suitable with a Streamed Broccoli that is self explanatory and a Bacon Potato Salad was not particularly impactful with the potatoes being a little too al dente for our tastes. The dessert with this dish is normally a S’more but ours came with the vegan brownie which was decent. Other options include Grilled Salmon over salad, BBQ Ribs, and a Sloppy Bear-wich with seasoned Impossible plant-based meat on toasted sourdough.
The Process and Tips
The Hungry Bear Restaurant Fantasmic! On-the-Go Package is honestly a really great choice. At $35 per adult, it’s a pretty decent value and even though it is the lowest price point of all options available, it still gets you low-fuss access to a really great view for one of Disneyland’s most popular nighttime spectaculars.
Getting Your Reservation
You need to get a restaurant reservation in advance as space is limited. Reservations are available in time slots that will dictate which showing of Fantasmic! that you will get to see. Meal pick-up times are normally 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM, though times may vary based on the Fantasmic! schedule.
- First Show: Reservations made for 3:00 PM through 6:45 PM
- Second Show; Reservations from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM
Getting Your Viewing Area Voucher
After you check in and pay for your Fantasmic! Dining Package meal, you will be presented with your vouchers to enter the reserved viewing area. Different packages have access to different viewing areas and this one is solid despite being the “cheap seats.”
How to Get Into the Viewing Area
Once you have your vouchers, you will check in with a Cast Member near the Harbour Galley (close to the Haunted Mansion exit) to gain access to the reserved viewing area. If you see guests are already seated in the viewing areas, you can talk to a Cast Member at the ropes for instruction on where best to go, they might let you in from where you are talking to them.
The viewing areas are (ground) sitting only although there are also accommodations for guests in wheel chairs and ECVs who may remain in their transports at the back of the viewing area. If you need to stand, Cast Members will either let you stand at the back of the section along the ropes or direct you to seated viewing on the docks near Habour Galley. Note that the section near Harbour Galley is very far off to the side.
See it for Yourself
Space is limited so you might not find your preferred time or date but always keep checking back for cancellations, especially in the days leading up to your visit date as people cancel to avoid penalty.
