The Disney Holidays are some of the busiest times of the year at the Happiest Place on Earth but this year there’s a whole lot of excitement buzzing that has nothing to do with gingerbread and mistletoe.
Our pictorial today will take a look around the Disneyland Resort for updates on projects including Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Avengers Campus, and Project Stardust enhancement projects. We have a little merch run at the end, as well. ENJOY!
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
The entrance to Tomorrowland is starting to feel wide and open as walls come down around areas formerly occupied by large thematic rocks.
A huge new planter has been revealed on the north side of the walkway.
Walls still remain near Plaza Inn as the final work is completed.
The newly reveled curbs are re-slopped to make it easier for wheel-bound guests to move through the area.
It seems work is wrapping up on the Matterhorn. It looks as if we could be seeing the attraction return to full capacity very soon.
Autopia refurbishment continued on through the weekend.
“it’s a small world” Holiday has opene but the surrounding areas are still down for some TLC.
Disney was doing a photo shoot with a model family at the wall near “it’s a small world.”
Walls are still up at Mickey’s Toontown park.
Jolly decorations without a Jolly Trolley.
Walls are still up near the new Tomorrowland FastPass kiosks.
The new stairs are well underway.
No sign of what’s going on behind the scrims and scaffold.
Long lines on the first day of the Disney Holidays for the new novelty popcorn buckets.
Walls are up blocking views into the the queue for the Rise of the Resistance.
No Life Day decorations on Batuu. I guess the planet is strictly non-denominational.
Around the Resort
Looks like they are resurfacing / repainting the Mickey and Friends parking structure.
Friday morning they were only loading out of ONE tram station so the lines were pretty hefty. The trams weren’t even lined up and waiting so big gaps inbetween…
So the new bridge finds utility!
Brickwork is just about completed. Now just a Mickey statue and we’re set here.
The new metal scrims are completed.
Wait, did you know Disney was launching a digital streaming service???
Asian Street Eats in Downtown Disney is opening soon.
Jamba coming soon.
Star Wars X TOMS
If you’re at Curl Surf in Downtown Disney, you can pick yourself up one of several different kinds of STAR WARS X TOMS shoes. The kind folks at TOMS sent us some shoes in return for sharing it with our readers here on MouseInfo. After we got them in the mail, we couldn’t help but to take them with us straight to Batuu!
FastPass of Tomorrow, Today
Tomorrowland has officially begun a change in operations for FastPass distribution in the land. A single new centralized FastPass distribution center is available for acquiring FastPass reservations for Space Mountain, Star Tours, and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. We showcased the new process and the new paperless kiosks in a previous update which you can access below.
