Marvel has launched the official website for CAPTAIN MARVEL and it’s a living breathing masterpiece of 1990s web design. And of course, by “masterpiece” we mean a cringe-worthy flashback to a much… simpler… time in the internet when animated GIF backgrounds and guest books proved how GREAT you were at authoring a website.
The official site for the movie, it sets the tone for the time and place of the film with a website that features all the usual things you expect: an gallery, characters, posters, etc. But all done in an unmistakable aesthetic that will have you hearing ghostly sounds of modems trying to connect to the internet. Scope little nods to the past including broken images, a guest book with a broken registration link, a web counter and more. It’s truly incredible. See it all below:

CAPTAIN MARVEL is set in the 1990s with an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom. The film stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law.
It is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee are the executive producers.
CAPTAIN MARVEL makes her debut in theaters March 8, 2019.
