June Gloom continues to bring depressing skies over the Disneyland Resort but those clouds break away midday and bring beautiful temps and skies to the Happiest Place on Earth.

This weekend, we were seeing Stars and Cars thanks to taping going on in promotion of Disney-Pixar’s upcoming CARS 3. The land closed early on Saturday to host the premiere party for the film.

In today’s pictorial update, we also take a look at the freshly-reopened Big Thunder Trail, new looks at Frontierland progress, plus more Star Wars themed-land updates.

We’ll take another look at some Summer of Heroes offerings in Disney California Advneture, plus refurb updates, and a merch run. All of this and more in our latest pictorial. ENJOY!

Stars and Cars

Cars Land set the stage to host to a premiere party for CARS 3. In the morning a few interviews were taped with film stars Owen Wilson, Larry the Cable Guy, Cristela Alonzo, Armie Hammer, and Kerry Washington.

Several signs acknowledged the early closure of the land.

The gate was open near Guardians and you could see some of the setup for the press mele to befall the resort.

The new entrance marquee work is not finished yet, it did not seem like it would be ready for tonight.

Strolling Through

The Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost and South Sea Traders shops will be closing to create an expanded dining area for Bengal Barbecue and space to allow strollers to come off the main walk-way through the small land.

Happy Trails

Over near the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the Big Thunder Trail has finally reopened allowing access once again between Fantasyland and Frontierland. Along the way there’s two entrances into the upcoming Star Wars Land! There’s a few new sights on the path including a giant new rockwall.
