Easter eggs are a new hallmark of Disney Imagineering and we recently had the chance to explore the new Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT attraction with Imagineer Danny Handke. Check out our video as we take look at just SOME of the secrets inside including surprise references and special in-jokes.

By now, we’ve all seen the obvious references including Harold the Yeti from the Matterhorn, but in this video we’ll take a little closer look for some others including hidden Mickeys (and Minnies) plus a several Hollywood Tower Hotel references, a Small World doll face, Captain Barbosa’s beard, and a whole bunch Marvel references that fans will surely enjoy from Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange, Agents of SHIELD, and more.

See some of the Easter Eggs were were able to spot below!

Disney References

Hidden Mickey!

Hidden Minnie!

A Small World doll face.

Davy Jones’ beard! In the tall jar of yellow liquid. Maybe the Collector likes calamari?

Migration Patterns of Earth’s Avifauna by Rohde. Joe Rohde is lead Imagineer on this project! He also spearheaded the recent Pandora – World of Avatar in Orlando. Perhaps some of the flying banshees are the avifauna covered in this book? Perhaps not since this book specifically calls out Terran creatures.

Harold the Yeti is found in the Maintenance Bay near the Gantry Lifts.

Figment the dragon is also trapped inside!

Tower of Terror References

A Bellhop hat! The book in front of it is also from the former Library in the attraction!

Not quite sure what this is but it has Hollywood Tower Hotel logomark on it. Luggage tag? Door hang? Key label?

A little hard to see here but a white sheet covers one of the paintings that used to hang in the lobby. In front of that is a little octopus by the name of Dolores who was seen in the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown during the “Two Different Worlds” number.

Another Tower of Terror reference. A Far Cry From the Top Floor.

Marvel References

Of course, Star-Lord’s Walkman can be found inside. This actually plays into a blink and miss it show moment with Rocket Raccoon who swoops this up at the end of his spiel. (Watch Video)

This one isn’t quite so hidden but it’s an outlaw poster for the character Mantis from the most recent Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol 2.

Also not quite so hidden or unexpected but the Collector’s goggles can be found on his desk.

The framed Crimson Bands of Cyttorak hang in the collector’s office. You’ll remember them from Doctor Strange.
