It was another solid weekend of crowded walkways and absolutely stunning weather at the Happiest Place on Earth and the entire resort continues to buzz with activity.

There’s been a few changes to the landscape in relation to the construction for Disney’s upcoming Star Wars themed land. The former walkway to the Hungry Bear restrooms has finally reopened and replaced former stairs and wheelchair ramp with a single graded ramp. The walkway will eventually double as a walking path to one of the three entrances into the new land from a galaxy far, far away.

A few interesting shapes have also sprung up in the rock-work taking on a definite other-worldly appearance. Meanwhile, the construction on the land itself continues to look decidedly more metallic as structures continue reaching for the sky all across the site.

Meanwhile, the Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT attraction is nearly completely free of tarps and scaffolding, revealing what will soon be the final appearance for the former Tower of Terror attraction.

Other refurbishments and projects continue on through the early spring season including Matterhorn, Snow White’s Grotto, and the newly reopened Adventureland men’s restrooms.

We’ll also take a look at the beautiful blooming Disneyland Rose, plus we have a merch run and more! ENJOY!

The Show Must Glow On

After accidentally updating entertainment schedules, then rolling them back. Disney decided to let the cat out of the bag that due to popular demand the limited-engagement for the Main Street Electrical Parade has been extended to last through August 20, 2017.

Summer of Heroes

The extension of the Main Street Electrical Parade means it will also overlap with the big Summer of Heroes push launching on May 27, 2017 and lasting through September 10, 2017. The marketing campaign will celebrate the opening of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT and include dance parties, character meet and greets, and more.

Star Wars Land

Wild Frontier

Rock-work continues to take shape and color.

A staged tree blocks the sight-lines here.

These crags are certainly other worldly. Or they could just yet to be shaped. But they are certainly evocative of shapes we’ve seen in the concept art…

The path to the Hungry Bear restrooms has also reopened. Soon, this pathway will also lead to one of three entrances into the new Star Wars themed land.

Not much in the way of visual changes here.

Windows blue screen (of death).

Sailing Ship Columbia remains in dry dock.

Docks nearing completion. Sorta.

Not much visually different with the Fantasmic! barges.

Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT

The exterior is nearly completely revealed.

While doing our Disney Egg-stravaganza we noticed the highly reflective surfaces of the tower peeking through the sightlines in different areas of the park.

Squatters!

Still one of my favorite Autopia details with the off-roading car slamming into the fence. ASIMO in the background.

Still like this popcorn cart.

So many signs printed at the resort!

TWELVE!

The Adventureland men’s restrooms finally reopened.

The rocks are a decidedly more natural color.

Pineapple Parfaits are no longer tied to MOANA. The Moana promotional Shrimp, Sausage, and Pineapple Skewer is also gone at the Bengal Barbecue. But you can still get our new obsession…

Pork Belly Lettuce Wrap Skewer. Three chunks of salty pork goodness with a crunchy veggie medley and lettuce.

The official Disneyland Roses are all in bloom in New Orleans Square.

The special Disneyland Rose is known for its coral/peach/pink color and the multiple roses that often bloom in clusters.

Wine and Dine

There’s only 13 days left of the Disney California Food and Wine Festival, take a look at our INSIDE AND IN DEPTH report on the event.

Be Their Guest…

Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is huge hit but if you haven’t seen it yet then you will find no better way to enjoy the beautiful film than at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre.

They always do it up big at the El Capitan and for this special engagement, there’s a custom Swarovski crystal curtain, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST costum/prop exhibit, a custom curtain pre-show, and special dining packages. Your local cineplex will not welcome you to be their guest in anywhere near as grand a scale as the El Capitan Theatre.

We were invited to check out the festivities this past week and can safely say that this is truly a magical Disney experience that you’ll want to experience for yourself, whether you’ve seen the movie or not!
