Smashing box office records the past two weekends, Disney’s BEAUTY AND THE BEAST is huge hit but if you haven’t seen it yet then you will find no better way to enjoy the beautiful film than at Hollywood’s El Capitan Theatre.

They always do it up big at the El Capitan and for this special engagement, there’s a custom Swarovski crystal curtain, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST costum/prop exhibit, a custom curtain pre-show, and special dining packages. Your local cineplex will not welcome you to be their guest in anywhere near as grand a scale as the El Capitan Theatre.

We were invited to check out the festivities this past week and can safely say that this is truly a magical Disney experience that you’ll want to experience for yourself, whether you’ve seen the movie or not! Here’s a list of Six Must-See Things for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST at the El Capitan Theatre

  1. Swarovski Crystal Curtain

  2. You’ll want to get up close to admire this one. The bling factor is real.

  3. In Theater Props

  4. A few props are in and around the theater include a Rose jar and two ENORMOUS lanterns from the front of the castle. Two chandeliers also hang inside along with a rose garland.

  5. Pre-Show Overture

  6. For this special engagement of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, the El Capitan presents a special curtain show that uses projections, lights, and other effects to bring dazzling visuals to life in celebration of the film. The whole thing is set to a BEAUTY AND THE BEAST overture, arranged by Alan Menken’s long-time music director Michael Kosarin. Done in the style and tradition of the great classic roadshow film overtures, it was recorded by a 100-piece symphonic studio orchestra, and takes the audience through the best loved songs from the 1991 animated film, as well as some of the gorgeous new songs written for this new live-action one.

  7. Exclusive Costumes and Props Exhibit

  8. Our favorite component of any engagement at the El Capitan is when there’s the exclusive Costumes and Prop exhibits! You can get up-close looks at film-used pieces from the film!

First, a look at the costumes! Belle, Beast, Lumiere, and Cogsworth.

There’s also a bunch of props on display…

  9. Dining Packages

  10. In grand Disney tradition, there’s dining packages to plus your experience…

GHIRARDELLI SIP & SEE PACKAGE for $27.00 per person is a great option that includes VIP Preferred Seat for the movie, VIP Popcorn, 20 oz. drink of choice. Disney invited us to this special engagement with a Sip & See Package. There’s several tea options available including Chamomile Honey and Vanilla, Lemon & Ginger, Orange & Cinammon Spice, or Pure Peppermint..

  11. Rose Wall Photo-Op

  12. What we found to be a surprisingly big hit was a beautiful wall of HUNDREDS of live roses. The blooms are a special variety sold by Luxe Bloom that remain wilt free for several weeks. Get to the theater early and get your photo here before the long lines build!

    Yes, the roses are real!

Of course, you can also find a slew of BEAUTY AND THE BEAST merchandise, too!

See it for yourself!
