We had the chance to taste our way through 2025 Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood tasting bites and sips themed to the various terrors on display for this year’s event. From full-sized entrees to snacks and mocktail beverages, we had our fill to stay energized for a night in the fog.
Universal hosted us for a visit and to try out this year’s dining pass option. Is it worth it? Here’s a look and review of all the food and drink we tried at Halloween Horror Nights 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood.
What We Tried
All of the items we tried are available with the Halloween Horror Nights Dining Pass. You can check out our FULL REVIEW of the Halloween Horror Nights Dining Pass to see if it’s the right choice for you but below we’ve indicated menu items that you can redeem.

Dia de Los Muertos
Here’s everything we tried at this location in the Universal Plaza on the Upper Lot.
- 🌞 Beef Birria Tacos with Red Sauce ($13.99) beef birria topped with onions and cilantro on a corn tortilla and served with red consomé sauce for dipping. These taste great and are a solid option. For the price, it’s not the most filling choice.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
- ☀️ Horchata Churro Bites ($6.99) are little pieces of churro coated with cinnamon, sugar, and an horchata seasoning. Considering the temporary nature of this location we thought these would be stale and soft but they were cripy and sweet.

Filly Foodstuffs (Fallout Food and Drink)
Here’s everything we tried at this location on the Upper Lot (temporarily taking over the Hollywood & Dine location near the park entrance).
- 🌞 Brahmin Burger ($17.99) all-beef burger topped with smoked brisket, pickles and BBQ sauce. This was our favorite bite of the night. The burger was decent but the smoke brisket was tender, well seasoned, and well sauced. An absolutely great way to satisfy a monstrous appetite.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
- 🌞 Roasted Stingwing ($16.99) plant-based meatloaf served with insta-mash and mushroom gravy. The potatoes were surprisingly good and the gravy with the chunky bits of mushroom were our favorite part. The plant-based meatloaf had a really strange texture but tasted good.
- RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫
- 🌞 Loaded Cram Fries ($14.99) crispy chili-glazed Spam served over pub fries. We liked these as a snack but Universe considers this an entree option and for us it’s too much fries and not enough of the “loaded” components to make this a meal. The chili-glazed Spam was delicious.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
- 🌞 Iguana on a Stick ($12.99) cheesy cornflake crusted corn dog. We’re not exactly sure where the cheese came into this dish but it was overall fine. The breading had a sort of cornmeal coating, evocative of Shake and Bake which didn’t bother us but isn’t going to be for everyone.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫
- ☀️ Vault Dwellers Wedding Cake ($8.99) red velvet sponge cake with cream cheese mousse. The cake itself was good and moist but the icing was so cloyingly sweet it overpowered anything else. Points for presentation though…..
- RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫
- ☀️ Yum Yum Deviled Eggs ($8.99) coconut panna cotta filled with Chamoy pineapple bits and topped with mango topping and tajin. If you can get past the appearance of these looking exactly like deviled eggs, these actually taste pretty good. Definitely worth a shot if you’re curious.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃⚫⚫
- ☀️ Quantum Fizz ($11) a non-alcoholic blue raspberry Sprite with a sour blue raspberry rim. We don’t usually get mocktails in the parks but since we had the dining pass we decided to give this one a try and were very pleasantly surprised to find this not being over-the-top sweet.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
- ☀️ Rad Away ($12) a non-alcoholic chipotle pineapple brown sugar lemonade served in a blood bag. The blood bag is the gimic here but it doesn’t do enough to save this one. It’s a little too sweet and a little too smokey for our tastes. In a weird way it tasted the way a huant maze smells??
- RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫
Five Nights at Freddy’s Food and Drink
Here’s everything we tried at this location on the Lower Lot (temporarily taking over Studio Cafe near the entrance to Super Nintendo World).
- 🌞 Freddy Fazbear Pizza – Pepperoni ($13.99) classic cheese pizza topped with tasty pepperoni. This is standard theme park pizza. It’s good but certainly not destination worthy. The only interesting thing about this is the Freddy Fazbear’s box that it comes in.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
- ☀️ Cupcake ($9.99) chocolate cupcake with vanilla filling and strawberry buttercream. We were surprised how much we enjoyed this. Is it a sugar bomb? Yes. Did we regret it? Also yes, but like a good kind of regret, you know?
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Jason Universe Barbecue
Here’s everything we tried at this location on the Lower Lot (in front of the Panda Express).
- ☀️ Jason Universe Mask S’more ($8.99) fire-roasted marshmallow, graham cracker, milk chocolate and blood splatter. Far and away the worst bite of the night. The marshmallow is dense and the chocolate and cracker too thin to do anything useful here. The biggest insult to the injury is that it isn’t served cold.
- RATING: 🎃⚫⚫⚫⚫
SLASH Bar
Here’s everything we tried at this location on the Lower Lot at the upstairs Jurassic Cove near “Jurassic World—The Ride.”
- 🌞 Slash’s Taco Trio ($18.99) 1 chicken satay, 1 Thai beef, 1 Thai curry plant-based steak tips taco; each topped with pickled carrot and onion drizzled with a creamy turmeric sour cream and cilantro, served with chips. The sauce and toppings are great. The chicken and steaks were serviceable. The plant-based steak tips had a strange texture that we did not enjoy. The tortilla was also undercooked and fell apart instantly under the weight of the ingredients.
- RATING: 🎃🎃⚫⚫⚫
- ☀️ Slash’s Top Hat ($9.99) vanilla bean sponge cake with mango habanero gelee, pineapple compote and a crisp honey crunch. We were so surprised by how much we enjoyed this. It tasted fancier han it had any right too. The cake was moist and the filling was a great compliment.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
- ☀️ Slash’s Snake Pit ($15) a non-alcoholic raspberry ginger Coca-Cola or Coca-Cola Zero Sugar with a gummy snake. This one really surprised us, it’s such a simple combination of flavors but we found it addicting. The gummy snake was a fun and silly twist.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
Terrifier Clown Cafe Cart
Here’s everything we tried at Clown Cafe cart located on the Upper Lot near the “Terrifier” haunted house maze.
- ☀️ Art’s Bloody Masterpiece Donut ($11.99) vanilla donut with raspberry filling, black and white sprinkles and a red chocolate drizzle. If you like the Simpsons donuts you know what you’re getting into here. The raspberry jelly makes this one messy and the icing even messier. You might want to save it for home.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃⚫
- ☀️ Sunflower Glasses ($8.99) lemon raspberry cookie sandwich was the most surprising bite of the night. We loved the textures and flavors in this simple confection.
- RATING: 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃
