After visiting the farewell panel for Phineas and Ferb panel in 2015, we couldn’t have dreamed that the irreverent show would have its cast and crew assembled once again — much less to discuss NEW content. If I had a nickel for every time we’ve been here, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice.
Here’s some of what we learned at the “Phineas and Ferb” panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025.
The panel was moderated by the filmmaker Kevin Smith and featured co-creators Dan Povenmire and Swampy Marsh plus stars Vincent Martella, David Errigo Jr., Ashley Tissale, Alyson Stoner and the immeasurably talented Dee Bradley Baker.
Below are some of the highlights.
- Povenmire and Mrash initially weren’t sure they had enough ideas for 40 more episodes… now they believe they can do this until they’re in their 80s
- Writers’ Room includes both original team members and longtime fans of the show, providing fresh but faithful storylines.
- As akways, the show is written for adults and kids alike, relying on dense joke layering.
- The first episode of Get Cartoonified with Phineas and Ferb, starring Kylie Cantrall, was previewed before it aired for everyone else
- A new clip was shown featured Phineas, Ferb, and taking on Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s personality
- Tisdale humored that she was pregnant with her second child recording for the new season and hoped that her baby didn’t think all the Candace craziness was real life
- Baker joked that he made like three sounds for Perry and now they just re-use those over and over and he sits back and continues to get all the residuals
-
Michael Bublé guest stars as a character named “Trophy McTropeface” and sings a song for a zoetrope storyline.
- Why is Doof so obsessed with self destruction? In character, Povenmire said he’d “rather have a Self Destruct button and not need it than need one and not have it.”
- While no additional Star Wars crossovers are necessarily in the works per se, there are definitely “ongoing talks”
- You can stream all seasons of PHINES AND FERB on Disney+. The final 10 episodes of Season 5 will be released in 2026 on Disney Channel and Disney+.
