It’s rare that you get a casting announcement before knowing what movie they are going to be in but that’s what happened with the X-men at 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. We now know a large majority of the actors who will reboot the X-men universe but we don’t have any confirmations as far as which film(s) they will be seen in. Let’s dive right in!
Here’s a look at what we got to see at the Disney Entertainment Showcase during 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (formerly D23 Expo) taking place from August 14 – 16, 2026.
What to Expect
The Disney Entertainment Showcase at the Honda Center was hosted by Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan who were costars together in ZOOTOPIA 2 and featured Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige who was ready to pull a “to me, my X-men” moment. He was joined onstage by Sadie Sink, who debuted as Jean Grey in SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY plus THUNDERBOLTS* director Jake Schreier to discuss reveal the core cast of mutants for an all-new, still-untitled, X-Men film in development with Marvel Studios.

- Samara Weaving (Ready or Not) as Emma Frost
- Inde Navarrette (Obsession) as Rogue
- Maya Boyd (& Juliet) as Storm
In a special video recording, Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) announced that he will play Nathaniel Milbury.
The untitled X-Men film will be released exclusively in theaters May 5, 2028.
