There are certain perks of living in Southern California that many of us have taken for granted. (It’s hard not to do the obligatory “take for granite” joke.) From theme parks to beaches to extravagant outdoor malls, there is a lot to enjoy in the area. With top-tier blockbusters finally making their return to theaters, there is only one venue that truly evokes the Disney spirit and provides a true spectacle for Disney’s newest film. Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE has approached the docks, some say it’s a paradox, at the El Capitan Theatre!
What’s more, all guests attending Jungle Cruise at El Capitan will be treated to complementary Dole Whip, costumes from the movies, and the unique “boat-o op”. You get the drift, right?
MouseInfo was invited to be part of the D23 Opening Night screening and we’re ready now to sail into uncharter waters for a look at the opening night festivities! ENJOY!
Before the Show
D23 Members attending the special screening Thursday evening were also treated to exclusive Jungle Cruise skipper hats along with their concession treats.
Prior to the extravagant curtain opening (really – it’s quite impressive), the house organist Rob Richards has returned with a medley of Disney songs on the Mighty Wurlitzer organ, which rises from beneath the stage.
There was a special appearance from D23’s Vice President, Michael Vargo, and Walt Disney Company CEO, Bob Chapek.
More to See
Inside the lobby is the “boat-o op”, or photo op for those that aren’t following the pun-filled article.
The usual downstairs exhibit area was closed for the D23 event. Instead a few costumes could be seen in the side balcony boxes. The downstairs theatre exhibit area is where guests can normally check out screen used costumes and props up close.
About the Movie
The theatre is now loading passengers on a fun-filled, action-packed limited engagement journey that’s undeniably Indiana Jones meets Pirates of the Caribbean. Staying true to form, JUNGLE CRUISE contains some fan favorite jokes with a few punchline twists sprinkled throughout.
Amongst a great score, wild action, and hidden Easter eggs throughout, Jungle Cruise will likely be remembered for embodying the essence of its attraction counterpart and offering a knee-slapping good time at the movies.
