Amongst a myriad of announcements for domestic theme parks at 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event we also got a bunch of news and updates for the Disney Cruise Line and international Disney Parks with updates for Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong.

Here’s a look at what we got to see at the Disney Experiences Showcase during 2026 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event (formerly D23 Expo) taking place from August 14 – 16, 2026.

What to Expect

The Disney Experiences Showcase at the Honda Center was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris who was part of the conversations where it was shared that Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, and Hong Kong will debut major new attractions and expansions, including Lion King, Space Mountain, Wreck-It Ralph, Spider-Man, and Avengers experiences.

Disney Cruise Line will expand to 13 ships by 2030, double San Diego sailings, introduce European cruises aboard the Disney Wish, and launch Disney Believe in 2029. A new mid-sized ship class will also debut in 2029, designed to reach smaller ports worldwide.

Here’s some of what we learned.

For Disney Cruise Line

  • Fleet Expansion: Imagineer Claire Weiss confirmed that the fleet will grow to a total of 13 ships by late 2030, following recent launches of the Disney Treasure, Disney Destiny, and Singapore-based Disney Adventure.
  • Itineraries:
    • Sailings out of the Port of San Diego in Southern California will officially double.
    • The Disney Wish will sail European itineraries for the first time in Summer 2027, while the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder return to Alaska.
  • Disney Believe:
    • The fourth vessel in the Wish Class, celebrating magic, family, and nature.
    • Bow & Stern: The stern character sculptures will feature Woody and Buzz Lightyear drawing on the hull with crayons.
    • Grand Hall Icon: John Stamos made another cameo as Captain Jack Sparrow before Weiss officially revealed that Moana will be the bronze statue icon anchoring the Grand Hall.
  • New Ship Class: DCL previewed an all-new mid-sized class of cruise ships slated to debut in 2029, engineered to access unique, smaller ports around the world.

For International Disney Parks

Disney Adventure World, Disneyland Paris

  • Space Mountain: Hyperspace Mountain will officially close in 2027 to make way for the return of Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune, restoring the attraction’s original Jules Verne-inspired Victorian aesthetics and orchestral soundtrack.
  • The Lion King: Disney Adventure World will construct the first dedicated Lion King water attraction in the world, taking guests through Simba’s journey from Pride Rock to a climactic confrontation with Scar.

Tokyo Disney Resort

  • Tokyo Disneyland – Space Mountain Earthrise: An entirely rebuilt version of Space Mountain anchoring a modernized Tomorrowland, featuring a brand-new high-tech rocket launch sequence that simulates blasting out of Earth’s atmosphere.
  • Tokyo Disneyland – Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue: Comedian Skylar Astin made a comedic appearance with a golden hammer to help tease this upcoming Wreck-It Ralph indoor dark ride, scheduled to open next spring, where guests help Ralph and Vanellope wrangle sugar bugs and avoid King Candy.

Shanghai Disney Resort

  • Announced details on the first dedicated Spider-Man-themed land, themed around the Shanghai branch of the Worldwide Engineering Brigade (WEB).
  • Features over 20 custom murals by local Chinese artists, roving Spider-Bots, and a major high-speed Spider-Man roller coaster that recently completed track installation.

Hong Kong Disneyland

  • Stark Expo Expansion: Expanding the Tomorrowland area with an all-new Avengers Pavilion, a Quinjet landing pad, and the Avengers Research Testing Labs.
  • The attraction features Peter Parker and utilizes over 120 vertical feet of new storytelling effects to transport guests via Sling Rings to Asgard and Wakanda.
