Disneyland Resort announced today the brand-new SUMMER OF THE CENTURY promotion that will be sharing the spotlight temporarily with the 70th Anniversary festivities this year.
It was confirmed in the official announcement that the festival will highlight top films and franchises from the extensive library from 20th Century Studios. Fans will see temporary attraction overlays, a new video presentation in Tomorrowland, food and wine marketplaces at DCA, and even some unexpected character meet and greets.
The Disneyland Summer of the Century festivities kick off May 16 – August 15, 2025, here’s everything you need to know.
Last year’s Pixar Fest wasn’t just a resurrection of a previous celebration but actually part of a new strategy to use the busy summer season to highlight the company’s ever-growing roster of IP. Just a week after the end of the this year’s Star Wars: Seasons of the Force offerings, this newest celebration will focus on the best from 20th Century Studios.
Considering the busy 70th anniversary this year, we don’t expect much in the way of decor although Disney did confirm lamppost decorations on Buena Vista Street featuring familiar characters including Mrs. Doubtfire whose story did take place in California.
Below are the main highlights that have been confirmed.
Attraction Overlays
It seems Halloween is coming early this year as Disneyland ups the creep-factor with two of the most popular 20th Century movie baddies getting representation with the confirmation of Alien Space Mountain and Jungle Cruise: Predator Invasion.
Alien Space Mountain
Ahead of the launch of ALIEN: EARTH on Hulu this summer, Disneyland will become the exclusive temporary home of Alien Space Mountain. Expect the creep factor from Space Mountain: Ghost Galaxy and you’ll have a good sense of what to expect here. The attraction will feature the iconic musical score by Academy Award-winning composer James Horner while integrating PG teasers for the upcoming suspense thriller.
With Season of the Force ending on May 11 of this year, it gives Disney about a week for the changeover to the newest iteration of overlays to the popular Space Mountain attraction so we should be expecting a modest overlay here with music, projections, and lighting effects only.
Jungle Cruise: Predator Invasion
The 2022 film PREY saw the iconic PREDATOR character touching down on Earth for the first time in the Great Northern Plains in 1719 but that wasn’t the only place (and time) the character has ventured to Earth. It seems something funny is going on over at the Jungle Cruise where a mysterious craft has crash landed along idyllic waterways in Adventureland.
What’s that clicking sound? Probably nothing. This one should be fun after the sun goes down!
Food Festival
Similar in scale to last year’s Pixar Fest, the new Bounties of Pandora festival marketplaces will bring new and familiar flavors from the planet of Pandora as seen in the AVATAR film franchise.

Say Awnga Niväk Ko as we get ready to feast on the rich flavors of Pandora! The booths span a wide array of offerings with four booths that include:
- Satu’li Canteen II: Sample the best of the fan-favorite Walt Disney World eatery
- Neytiri’s Wonders of Nature: Plant-based dishes inspired by Pandora’s lush flora
- Bioluminescent Bites: Colorful desserts and drinks with collectible glow cubes
- Tulkun Tidal Treats: Fresh flavors from the Pandora ocean including seafood
20th Century and Beyond: A Cinematic Journey
At the Tomorrowland Theater, get ready for a thrilling journey through the cinematic history of Twentieth Century Studios films including iconic moments from classics such as Avatar, Planet of the Apes, Home Alone, and Night at the Museum and more.
The whirlwind presentation promises behind-the-scenes insights, a mix of nostalgia, and a heavy dose of music and magic. It’s unclear if the venue’s moving theater seats will be integrated.
Fanfare Friends
Meet fan-favorite characters, many for the first time, at a special meet and greet location that promises appearances from characters including :
- Anastasia from Anastaia
- Sid and Scrat from the Ice Age franchise
- Tina and Bob Belcher from Bob’s Burgers
- Mrs. Doubtfire and more!
Plus, Deadpool and Wolverine will be making a return appearance at Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure for a limited time in Storytime with Deadpool: Summertime Splashtacular.
