It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that Emma Watson and Dan Stevens welcome you at Disney Parks to a special preview for the upcoming live-action BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. We got the chance to check out the preview today which is being presented in the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure.
We checked it out today and found a fun but small exhibit which includes Belle’s blue dress costume, a Magical Atlas, the Enchanted Rose case, and the magic hand-mirror. For you cosplayers out there, we have a bunch of up-close looks at Belle’s costume… including her awesome socks!
The preview itself is shown in 3D with special in-theater effects and a great use of the disguised screens on the side of the theater. We won’t spoil how but its use is clever and well-executed… makes me wish my local theater could do the same! Plus, they’re used before the preview as magic mirrors that occasionally flash in animated images of each of the characters.
The actual preview is an edited version of the iconic “Belle” song as she walks through the village and endures a proposal from Gaston before going into an extended trailer for the film. Interestingly, the short moments with LeFou and Gaston seem to hint at some sort of attraction beyond just amicable admiration. Will LeFou have romantic feelings for Gaston? It seems like it!
Over in Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests will get to see a similar advance look as part of the One Man’s Dream attraction.

The story and characters audiences know and love come to spectacular life in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic “Beauty and the Beast,” a stunning, cinematic event celebrating one of the most beloved tales ever told. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a Beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart of the true Prince within.
The film stars: Emma Watson as Belle; Dan Stevens as the Beast; Luke Evans as Gaston, the handsome, but shallow villager who woos Belle; Oscar® winner Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s eccentric, but lovable father; Josh Gad as Lefou, Gaston’s long-suffering aide-de-camp; Golden Globe® nominee Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, the candelabra; Oscar nominee Stanley Tucci as Maestro Cadenza, the harpsichord; Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster; six-time Tony Award®winner Audra McDonald as Madame Garderobe, the wardrobe; Oscar nominee Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, the mantel clock; and two-time Academy Award® winner Emma Thompson as the teapot, Mrs. Potts.
