For more than two decades, Walt Disney Imagineering have been indulging in a bit of a theme park extended universe across its Disney Parks with the backstory of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (or S.E.A. for short.) At the D23 Expo, two new books expanding on this mythology and also learned about how it all fits together.
Moderator Julie Kagawa led a fun chat with Executive Story Development Mark Lavine, VP Content and Partnership Planning Kiran Jeffrey, Sr. Story Editor Charlie Watanabe, and Sr. Project Coordinator Juleen Woods to go into the myth and mythology as well as confirm that new content in this world is in development for Disney+!

At its core, the story of the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (or S-E-A — do NOT call it “sea”) is that it it was founded in the early 1500s by a distinguished body of mariners, scientits, engineers, inventors, and artists dedicated to exploring the unknown and living to tell the tale.
