MagicBand+ technology is has already been announced, offering a slew of new features for guests, but now we know that the service will be debuting officially at Walt Disney World at the end of the month. The service is announced to be coming to Disneyland “later this year.”

Starting July 27, guests in Orlando will be able to embark on interactive in-park adventures unlocked by their bands while also enjoying legacy features of classic bands including park and room entry and paying for retail and dining on property. The new magical manacles start at a cost of $34.99.

Where You Can Use MagicBand+

Guests can experience various in park amenities in new interactive ways. Nighttime spectaculars will add a new layer when bands light up and complement the magic in the skies at “Harmonious” at EPCOT or “Disney Enchantment” at Magic Kingdom Park. MagicBand+ will also engage as all four theme park icons transform into Beacons of Magic during Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration.

Disney Fab 50 Quest

MagicBand+The Disney Fab 50 Quest is basically a scavenger hunt throughout the four Walt Disney World theme parks using MagicBand+ to help spread pixie dust (that Tinker Bell herself has preloaded into each and every one!) and interact with the golden character sculptures. Plus, the Play Disney Parks app, guests can dive deeper into the experience to find hints and keep track of sculptures which will unlock digital achievements, including an augmented reality feature!

Batuu Bounty Hunters’ Guild

MagicBand+ –Guests can join the Batuu Bounty Hunters’ Guild in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios using their MagicBand+ to find numerous virtual bounties hidden throughout Black Spire Outpost. Guests will follow the band’s light patterns and haptics to complete their mission. Then they will return to the local guild master, who will reward them with galactic credits awarded through the existing Play Disney Parks app Datapad experience. The virtual bounty can be seen using built-in augmented reality thermal viewer!

How to Get MagicBand+

  • Disney Resort hotel guests and Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will have the option to purchase at a discounted, pre-arrival price.
  • All guests can buy MagicBand+ at select stores across Walt Disney World and online at shopDisney, starting at $34.99.
  • Guests may continue to use their existing MagicBand and Disney MagicMobile, available on eligible devices, to enjoy other features, such as park entry.
  • The original MagicBand product will continue to be available for purchase as well.
