Disneyland finally shared what’s happening at the northeastern end of Main Street with with the confirmation of the new Plaza Point Holiday Shoppe replacing the former Main Street Photo Supply. When the marquee on the former photo-centric store was taken down it was all but clear that Disney had something new in mind and now we know that the a seasonal shop will envelop the space!
The new location will morph with the season and feature holidays including Hanukkah, Lunar New Year, Spring / Easter, and Fall / Halloween along with Christmas-themed merchandise year-round. The newly re-done wood-paneled space will be decorated with garlands, nutcrackers and festive décor plus a variety of holiday goods including ornaments, housewares, linens and accessories.
The video above features Resort Enhancement Manager Dawn Keehne sharing some of the store details and a sneak peek of the skilled artistry that’s underway in preparation for opening day.
The PhotoPass management that formerly happened in this location has moved outside the park gates into the Esplanade to the left of the Disneyland main entrance.
No word was given on the current Castle Holiday Shoppe in Fantasyland which itself has seen many different uses over the years. It’s also not the first time a year-round holiday-themed store has shifted spots at the Happiest Place on Earth. Before taking up residence near Peter Pan’s Flight, a holiday-themed shop formerly took up residence near Pinocchio’s Daring Journey as Geppetto’s Holiday Workshop and before New Orleans Square was home to the L’Ornement Magique which now serves as the new entrance into Club 33.
