Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration is back once again and while many of the offerings will be familiar to those who’ve been in previous years, the third year of the annual event introduces some fun surprises including a new musical stage show, a historical exhibit on the PEANUTS, a fun dance party and tons of tasty treats!
We were invited to come check out the event and are happy to present this look at 2020 Knott’s PEANUTS Celebration! ENJOY!
CHARACTER MEET AND GREETS
You never know who from the PEANUTS crew you’ll run into throughout the park plus find Pig-Pen back again this year with a special meetup at the Livery Stables with some of his favorite animal friends. And if that’s not enough, this year, we spotted Snoopy’s brother Spike!
ATTRACTION OVERLAYS
Woodstock’s Bird’s-Eye View
Sky Cabin once again features its seasonal takeover celebrating the lovable Woodstock.
Beagle Bonanza on Grand Sierra Railroad
The Grand Sierra Railroad gets a fun ride overlay with the PEANUTS gang celebrating Snoopy. Here’s a video from last year of the experience!
ENTERTAINMENT
HAPPINESS IS…
At the Calico Mine Stage this year is a brand new musical surprise with Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Peppermint Patty and Linus. Together with their friends, they invite you to play, dance, sing, and laugh through a medley of popular songs about fun, laughter and the true bonds of friendship. While not as strong as other shows we’ve seen on this stage, it’s a great opportunity to see some adorable characters.
Woodstock’s Musical Festival
At Calico Park, at nightfall, the stage will transform into a musical extravaganza featuring indie band The Jelly of the Month Club. Appearances by Peanuts characters and Woodstock himself make this an upbeat offering for the whole family. Here’s video from the inaugural year of the show.
Space Beagle
At Camp Snoopy, get ready to fly to the moon with Charlie Brown and Lucy and everyone’s favorite Space Beagle, Snoopy! This one is definitely aimed at the littles with plenty of opportunities to get up and dance along.
PEANUTS Cowboy Jamboree
At Calico Park, Franklin and Linus partake in different western-themed activities all day long like cactus bowling, bean bag toss, and egg-relay races. The littles have several opportunities all day to participate.
Charleston Circle Charleston Dance Party
This this cute offering (not advertised on the park schedules) brings PEANUTS characters out in tiny vehicles to invite guests to shake a tail feather just like Woodstock himself.
MORE TO EXPLORE
Pigskin PEANUTS Exhibit
This brand-new exhibit showcases the enduring cultural legacy of the PEANUTS characters through its football-themed storylines and also the origins of the most iconic PEANUTS gag, Lucy pulling away the football from Charlie Brown.
Discoteca de Silencio
Hosted by Spike, find a silent disco that has you strap on headphones and choose from one of three different types of music-styles. Plus, Lucy and Sally appear to keep things animated.
PEANUTS Sketch School
The Bird Cage Theatre offers a fun experience to learn how to draw favorite PEANUTS characters with a resident art teacher!
Photo-Ops
Find fun photo-ops at the main entrance plus a new campfire backdrop in Camp Snoopy along with the speech bubble selfie spots. Plus, beware of those kite-eating trees all around the park!
Teacher Translator
This adorable booth lets you press a button to record your voice and it then translates it for you into the iconic “teacher” language from the PEANUTS cartoons. Too funny!
FOOD AND SNACKS
For a limited time, you get your paws on a whole bunch of menu items inspired by the lovable Peanuts characters. On our visit, we had the opportunity to taste a few of the new menu items offered during the celebration.
