Rarely seen props, costumes, and models used in the making of James Cameron’s groundbreaking AVATAR were on display this past weekend at the D23 Expo. The gallery is a true treasure trove for fans of the AVATAR film and the park at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Found within the “Inside the World of Avatar” exhibit were pre-production artifacts and material dating from the earliest beginnings of the AVATAR design process are found here — some are physical props that were created as inspiration and reference for the digital versions seen in the actual film. Other items within included screen-used props from the live-action portions of the film plus some photo-ops.
This all came together with help from the archives at James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and some were never on public display before the D23 Expo!
