Forget Christmas in July, we’re closing out the month with HALLOWEEN IN JULY! Disney today released a bunch of new information, teasers, and pictures of what we can expect for the upcoming Halloween Time season at Disney California Adventure.
From villainous new entertainment to first-time arrivals of Disney characters plus food, merch, and more… there’s a whole lot more treats than tricks this year for Disney’s Halloween Time!
Let’s dive in.
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
The new name and location for Disney’s popular up-charge Halloween Parties, the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventure promises a bunch of great surprises that we already knew about and today we get some peeks at what to expect…
Villainous!
The new World of Color show features Oogie Boogie who weaves a Halloween tale about a young girl (and all-new character created by Disney animator Eric Goldberg) named Shelley Marie. The whole spectacle includes the familiar fountains, lights, lasers, projections and special effects of a classic World of Color show.
Shelley Marie has a decision to make about her Halloween costume for this year, and finds herself wondering if she could really be as strong and unique as some of her favorite Disney villains. This twisted tale carries Shelley on an unforgettable journey through devious encounters with The Queen, Ursula, Dr. Facilier, Hades, Jafar, Maleficent and more.
Villains Grove
Other than an official name for the new experience at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, we didn’t get much info other than a a surreal experience of the wondrous and ethereal world of Disney villains transformed with lighting, projections, sounds and special effects, creating a dreamlike environment.
Cheshire Cat!
Everyone’s favorite feline from Alice in Wonderland makes his Disneyland Resort debut in the “Frightfully Fun Parade” which travels through Disney California Adventure park for the first time this year!
As in previous years, the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow arrives on his ghostly black steed just ahead of the parade itself, carrying his flickering jack-o-lantern. He heralds the arrival of Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse who lead the cavalcade of characters, including Jack Skellington and many mischievous Disney villains who are ready to stir up some trouble along the parade route.
Mickey’s Trick and Treat
We already knew the new show was coming to the Disney Theater in Hollywood Land and today we have concept art giving us our first peek!
Perfect for young guests, Mickey’s Trick and Treat invites guests of all ages to join Mickey Mouse and his pals in an interactive production that include dancing, not-so-frightening scary-tales, and of course… candy!
