The 2016 San Diego Comic-Con is just around the corner and today they announced the Friday Schedule of Events for July 22, 2016. There’s not much that falls under Disney umbrella but there’s still a few other goings-on that Disney fans might enjoy.
Highlights include Beauty and the Beast: 25th Anniversary, Marvel Television: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and the Star Wars Trivia Panel.

Friday Schedule of Disney Events
Marvel: Civil War II
10:00am – 11:00am, Room 6DE
The biggest event of the year, Civil War II, is under way and the Marvel Universe is reeling from the shocking events! Star Wars: The Science Awakens

Members of the Hasbro team discuss the popular Hasbro Star Wars line. Attendees will get an in-depth look at Hasbro’s latest action figure offerings. Word on the Holonet is there may also be a few surprises, including a special product reveal.
I’m from Another Dimension: Disney XD’s Star vs. the Forces of Evil

Creator Daron Nefcy, creative director Dominic Bisignano, supervising directorAaron Hammersley, and series stars dive into the magical universe of Star vs. The Forces of Evil. Find out what is in the store for Star and her new wand this upcoming season. See exclusive clips from the shows, as well as an audience Q&A. Captain America: Civil War Screenwriting Q&A

Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (writers of Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: Winter Soldier) discuss the joys and challenges of adapting the beloved comic tale into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Backstory Magazine publisher Jeff Goldsmith (host of The Q&A with Jeff Goldsmith podcast). Cartoon Legends Speak: Diversity in the History of Animation

A panel featuring great artists including Disney Legend and first African American animator hired at Walt Disney Studios, Floyd Norman (The Jungle Book, Monsters, Inc), first African American animator to get a screen credit and award-winning illustratorRon Husband (The Rescuers, The Little Mermaid), Japanese American and Inkpot winner Willie Ito (Lady and the Tramp, The Flintstones), Jane Baer (Sleeping Beauty, Roger Rabbit), and Emmy Award-winning Mexican American animator Phil Roman(Sleeping Beauty, The Simpsons). Dead of Summer

Set in the late 1980s, school is out for the summer, and a sun-drenched season of firsts beckons the counselors at Camp Stillwater, a seemingly idyllic Midwestern summer camp, including first loves, first kisses-and first kills. Stillwater’s dark, ancient mythology awakens, and what was supposed to be a summer of fun soon turns into one of unforgettable scares and evil at every turn. Oscar-nominated producer Don Hahn, directors Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise, and an all-star panel of filmmakers discuss the making of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast, the first animated film to be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture.
Hollywood Science Fiction Museum
7:30pm – 8:30pm, Room 24ABC
What began as the rescue of Star Trek Enterprise bridge sets in 2012 has become what will be the world’s largest Science Fiction Museum and Horror Museum. FounderHuston Huddleston and special guests unveil news, photos, and videos from their nonprofit educational 2017 World Tour. Props and special events include Star Trek, Star Wars, Doctor Who, Firefly, Aliens, The Walking Dead and many more films and TV shows.
Star Wars Trivia Panel
8:00pm – 9:00pm, Room 7AB
The San Diego Star Wars Society has prepared a challenging, fun-filled trivia game for fans of the galaxy far, far away. The first game round is for kids ages 5-11, followed by three adult game rounds (ages 12 and up). Test your knowledge of the Star Wars universe, and win valuable prizes. The trivia panel hosts are Brendan Prout, Linda Crispien, Leia Hornedo, Carlos Munoz, David Gutierrez and Shawn Mullen.
Floyd Norman: An Animated Life Documentary Release
9:00pm – 10:30pm, Room 9
Filmmakers Michael Fiore (producer and 2nd unit director, Sony Screen Gems’ Keep Watching) and Erik Sharkey (director, Drew: The Man Behind the Poster) will show clips from their original feature-length documentary, announce upcoming release dates, and reunite animation’s “troublemaker” Floyd Norman (legendary Disney animator and story artist) with many animators and producers he worked with over his storied 61-year career. Panelists will include notables featured in the documentary, includingDon Hahn (producer, Maleficent), Gary Trousdale (co-director, Disney’s animatedBeauty and the Beast), Leonard Maltin (film critic and historian), Ken Mitchroney(writer, director, and story artist), Tom Sito (animator and professor of animation, USC), and Leo Sullivan (animator, producer, and publisher). The documentary also features interviews with Whoopi Goldberg (actress), Sergio Aragonés (cartoonist), Richard Sherman (Disney music composer), Scott Shaw! (cartoonist), and Ralph Guggenheim (former Pixar VP of animation). The documentary is supported with a wonderful jazz music score by Ryan Shore (composer, Disney’s Penn Zero, WB’sScooby-Doo!, and The Oscars) and original animation by up-and-coming artist and animator Nirali Somaia. The filmmakers will moderate a Q&A session and give away exclusive SDCC miniposters designed for the documentary by legendary illustrator Drew Struzan.
