ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS has wandered into the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood and it brings with it a few surprises that are sure to delight now through June 12, 2016. We were invited to scope out the special engagement and to check out the new Tick Tock Tea Time event that you can purchase in addition to tickets to the movie and were completely surprised by the spectacle.

With your regular paid admission to see ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS you not only get to see Disney’s sequel to the 2010 Tim Burton hit but also a few extra perks that will surely be unmatched by your local cineplex. For just a little more than what you’d pay at the mall, you get to see the film in beautiful crisp Dolby Vision 3D.

Not only that but before the film, there’s a special projection and light presentation that takes you through the looking glass with a bunch of stunning visuals that light up the theater. Then AFTER the movie, you can head to the theatre’s lower lounge to check out a fantastic display of actual screen-used props and costumes from the film.

In the Theater

The theater inside has some Alice theme pieces and theatre organist Rob Richards is on hand to play fantastical tunes on the mighty Wurlitzer.

Tick Tock Tea Time

The Chado Tea Room at Hollywood and Highland plays host to the Tick-Tock Tea Time. The special treat comes at an extra cost but does include VIP movie tickets into the theater. Before select showings, you can enjoy the special tea which includes tea sandwiches, desserts, teas and a surprise gift.

We were absolutely surprised and delighted by the experience. The Chado Tea Room doesn’t quite feel like Wonderland with its peaceful modern zen approach but Disney sets the table for an enjoyable little party. Upon being seated, you’ll find your setting which includes the menu, an activity sheet with crayons and the special gift which is an ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS branded mug.

The dining menu is pre-set (with kids options available for finicky eaters) but you do get your choice from one of five different fantastic teas. Each person gets their own small freshly steeped pot.

Advance reservations are required and are selling out quickly. Call (818) 845-3110 for booking.

Finished my coloring page! 🙂

Guests of the Tick Tock Tea Team can pick up teas to take home for 10% off during their visit! We opted for a few ounces of the Podrea and a nice Jasmine.

Disney Studio Store and Ghirardelli Shop

The adjacent shop has a few Alice merch items and of course tons and tons of chocolate.
