It’s not often that MouseInfo “resort hops” to theme parks outside the Disney family but as Southern California locals we occasionally found ourselves at Six Flags Magic Mountain. It has always been a classic destination for good old fashioned thrills that can’t be matched at any spots owned by the Mouse.
A few weeks ago, Six Flags recently announced some interesting changes coming to one of the park’s most prominent attractions: REVOLUTION. As the first looping steel coaster in the world, REVOLUTION was a pretty ground-breaking debut for its time. But now, Six Flags appears to have loftier goals to once again do a first-ever launch, this time as the first Virtual Reality Coaster in North America courtesy of a partnership with Samsung Gear VR powred by Oculus.
THE NEW REVOLUTION VIRTUAL REALITY COASTER will have guests strapping on the headset device to add all-new visuals and storyline to the classic attraction with a synced virtual world that will match every twist, turn, roll, and drop of the coaster.
On the ride, you’ll be strapped into your very own fighter plane as it takes on impeding alien spaceships that must be destroyed to protect the planet.
The New Revolution Virtual Reality Coaster will open for technical rehearsals with an exclusive preview for Season Pass Holders beginning this weekend on March 26. It will open to all guests at a later date.
