Last year, word broke that there was a new Mary Poppins film on the way under the direction of Rob Marshall and now it seems that Disney may have found their leading lady.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Emily Blunt is in talks for the part. The sequel will take place approximately 20 years after the first film and center around Michael Banks who now has a family of his own.
Blunt proved her singing chops to the Mouse in 2014 with her role of as the Baker’s Wife in INTO THE WOODS.
Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will be creating new songs and score for the project.
