What to Expect

The park operations during the USH Pass Member Holiday Park Takeover are different than during a regular park operating day so we’ve assembled some of the most pertinent information to know.

We will update this guide as additional details become available.

Getting Reservations

  • The event takes place on two nights, December 1 and 2, running from 7 pm – 11 pm each night.
  • Only Pass Members with a valid pass and event reservation are allowed to attend.
  • Re-entry is NOT allowed so if you exit the park, you will not able to get back in after the regular park hours had ended.
  • Find all details currently available on the official Universal Site here. Reservations open November 4 after 11am.

Benefits

  • ALL LEVELS of Annual Pass Members will receive a 20% food and beverage discount and 20% merchandise discount on event dates during event hours. As always, restrictions apply.
  • Universal Express is not available for purchase or use during the event (with the exception of Platinum Annual Pass members who can if they already have the ability to use the Universal Express access benefit after 3pm perk).
  • Crowds in the park are typically lower than during regular park hours with less people in the walkways and queues for attractions. However, lines for restaurants that offer special seasonal offerings may typically be as long or longer as Pass Members line up to try special seasonal offerings.
  • Parking is not included unless you already had that entitlement with your annual pass.

Attractions

Using previous years as a guide, you can expect most attractions to be open in the park although some will close early.

  • Studio Tour’s final departure is expected to be 9:15pm. They typically recommend getting a head start and take the tour any time after 6:15pm.
  • Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge is expected to close by 10:15pm.

Entertainment

  • Entertainment that is normally only available during the day may be performed, keep an eye out for the official event schedule at the event.
  • Universal Plaza plays host to Grinchmas entertainment and has limited capacity and space will be first come, first served.
  • At the conclusion of a show in Universal Plaza, guests may be asked to exit Universal Plaza to allow additional Pass Members to enjoy the festivities.
