The festivities at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa are off to a sweet start for the 2025 Lunar New Year with a new sugary connectionery at the center of the hotel’s lobby commemorating the year of the snake. Plus, snack and entertainment offerings are also available.

Confectionery Creation

Although it was unfinished on opening weekend, we got a peek at the work in progress sugary creation for this year which features a large snake sculpture forming the shape of a Mickey Mouse silhouette. Edible lanterns surround the structure. We’re excited to see what it looks like when it’s completed! Here’s a look at the ingredients that help bring this sweet feat to life:

  • 40 pounds white chocolate
  • 30 pounds fondant
  • 10 pounds crisped rice cereal
  • 3 pounds marshmallows

Entertainment

During the Lunar New Year celebrations, you can catch live performance groups on Sundays, Tuesdays and Fridays, or “Story Time with Mulan” on Mondays and Saturdays.
