It was confirmed at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event that the upcoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will be opening at Disneyland in California on November 15. Not just that, Critter Country is being renamed to Bayou Country.
Here’s everything we learned about Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and Bayou Country at the Disney Experiences Showcase at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.
The showcase for Disney Experiences at the Honda Center was hosted Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences (AKA head of Parks and Resorts). The announcements actually came from Darren Criss and Skylar Astin who dropped the new release date via song during a funny segment in the show in which they dropped a bunch of news and details.
Following its opening at Walt Disney World earlier this year, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open November 15, 2024 at Disneyland park in the newly renamed Bayou Country. In one heck of a bit of word play Disney advised the newly renamed land will be “filled with friendly woodland animals, from a trumpet-playing gator and an adorable bear who craves honey to a musical cast of bears, frogs, and other critters.”
In addition to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Bayou Country will be the home to existing favorites including
- The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh
- Pooh Corner
- Hungry Bear Barbecue Jamboree (newly reimagined)
- Plus newly-updated Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club
- Davy Crockett’s Explorer Canoes
Bayou Country is expected to reopen in phases culminating with the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure.
