A massive Frontierland expansion is coming to Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Here’s everything we learned at the Disney Experiences Showcase at the 2024 D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event.

The showcase for Disney Experiences at the Honda Center was hosted Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences (AKA head of Parks and Resorts). Following a video call with Tow Mater, it was confirmed a new area inspired by the Pixar Animation Studios film “Cars” will be coming to a reimagined section of Frontierland at Magic Kingdom.

UPDATE 8/12 New concept art released shows a better visual of the new land and it will seeming replace all of the current Rivers of America in Magic Kingdom.

Cars Area – Attraction Finish Line

The land promises not a visit to Radiator Springs but two the remote American wilderness which will be the backdrop for two exciting new “Cars”-themed attractions.

  • One attraction will invite you on a thrilling rally race through the mountains. Take on wild terrain as you race across the landscape climbing mountain trails, dodging geysers and — Mater’s favorite — splashing through mudholes.
  • The second attraction will be geared towards younger drivers as a fun ride for the whole family

Of course, you can expect plenty of themed dining and shopping to be included as part of the massive reworking of this section of the park.
