Sam Wilson is ready to make his big screen debut as Captain America in CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD and at San Diego Comic-Con cast and crew took to the stage for an energetic few minutes.
Cap himself, Anthony Mackie was joined on stage by Tim Blake Nelson and Danny Ramirez plus Giancarlo Esposito who confirmed he will be playing Sidewinder. That wasn’t the only big reveal, footage shown during the panel gives us our first look at Harrison Ford as as President Thaddeus Ross (and subsequently) his alter ego RED HULK.
Mackie’s excitement was palpable as he commented back at Tom Holland who’d previously joked with/at him that the character Falcon never had his own movie. Mackie now with pride rubs back in Tom’s face that he has his own standalone movie. Although historians may debate for ages that Tom’s point stands uncorrected since THE FALCON to date has still not had his own standalone movie.
The only math to Mackie’s enthusiasm — surprisingly — was Harrison Ford who energetically joined the stage and did a full Hulk out session before talking about how thrilled he was to get a piece of the action of being in the MCU.
CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD follows Sam Wilson, who after meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, finds himself in the middle of an international incident. Sam must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red. Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD  opens in theaters February 14, 2025.
