Fans of Tokyo Disney Resort will know the name Oriental Land Co., Ltd. (OLC for short) as the company that owns and operates the Japanese destination for all things Disney. Now, the company is stretching out its wings — or in this case — flippers, with the confirmation of a new Disney-branded cruise business in Japan.

OLC will build and operate a Disney-branded cruise business in Japan, expected to begin by early 2029.Ā As part of the partnership, a new Disney cruise ship, to be registered and based in Japan year-round, will be constructed at Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, with imaginative designs created by Walt Disney Imagineering.
As a sister ship to the popular Disney Wish, it will feature many guest-favorite venues and experiences from that ship with select modifications specially designed with Japanese guests in mind.Ā It is expected to be approximately 140,000 gross tons and powered by liquefied natural gas, with about 1,250 staterooms.
All of this is in addition to three more ships on the horizon from the Mouse!
