As the evolution of Downtown Disney continues, Disney is sharing more information about opening timeframes, remodels and more including steakhouse and BBQ concepts!
Here’s a look at everything we know so far…
New Announcements
Paseo and Centrico
- New concept art unveils more of the two new locations which are expected to open May 2024. Additional details were shared for each location:
- Paseo will feature a stunning staircase up to the main dining room and bar area which will be lined with rich woods, tiles, textures, leathers and custom accents that celebrate Mexico’s craftsmanship culture. An extended upper patio will offer exceptional new views of the district. Menu items will include colorful ceviches, Mama’s cochinita pibil (roasted marinated pork), lamb barbacoa and the mejillones (mussels).
Céntrico, the courtyard bar and restaurant, will be an energetic, central gathering place serving upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails. Its open, airy spaces designed with custom wood elements and lush greenery will welcome you into its outdoor canopy. Featured dishes will include quesabirrias, chicken enchiladas, tlayuda (a Oaxacan shareable dish reminiscent of a pizza with a perfect crunch) and one of Chef Gaytán’s favorites, Caesar salad.- Tiendita brings Mexican heritage flavors and street-food staples on the go. Through a self-ordering kiosk, menu options will include esquites (roasted corn), fish tacos, ice cream- stuffed chocolate tacos, and breakfast favorites like chorizo breakfast burritos and chilaquiles (marinated tortilla chips with egg). Peek-in windows let you see the expert culinary team at work.
Din Tai Fung
- Opening summer 2024
- Expect to try signature soup dumplings (Xiao Long Bao), wontons, noodles, steamed buns, bok choy, pork chop fried rice and other flavorful dishes served family style.
New Steakhouse and BBQ Concepts
- Two new restaurant concepts – a steakhouse restaurant and an adjacent barbecue eatery – are in the works for the Downtown Disney District.
- These new locations be located on the footprint of the former Tortilla Jo’s.
Marceline’s Confectionery Reimagining
- An all-new, expanded and completely reimagined confection experience featuring your favorite treats and fun new tasty offerings is coming soon
- While work on this location will soon be in progress, you can visit Marceline’s cart coming soon to the district to pick up your caramel apples, churro toffee and other handcrafted goodies.
Disney Dress Shop temporary relocation
- During the transformation of Marceline’s, The Disney Dress Shop has temporarily moved to the WonderGround Gallery location
- Select items from WonderGround Gallery may be found in Disney Home.
Previously Announced
Parkside Market
Parkside Market will be a new food court promising four new offerings from the Levy Restaurants group under one roof. (MORE INFO) Locations announced include:
Seoul Sister
- Seoul Sister is a fast-casual modern eatery that will serve a Korean-forward menu based on bibimbap (Korean rice bowls) with a California twist.
- Executive Chef Kelly Kim will showcase bold Korean flavors through marinated meats, colorful vegetables and savory sauces over rice, noodles or salad, plus appetizers, an Asian-inspired breakfast menu, and hand-crafted drinks.
Sip & Sonder
- Sip & Sonder, from founders Amanda-Jane Thomas and Shanita Nicholas, is a Black women-owned brand that has been recognized as one of the best cafés in L.A. by the Los Angeles Times.
- Guests in the district can expect to enjoy Sip & Sonder’s signature lattes, as well as fresh treats, frozen drinks and Caribbean-inspired bites.
GG’s Chicken Shop
- GG’s Chicken Shop, from Boka Restaurant Group, was founded by James Beard Award-winning restaurateurs Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, alongside Michelin Star Chef Partner Lee Wolen.
- Affectionately named after Wolen’s mother Geri, the shop will serve a family-friendly menu of chicken sandwiches, salads, and classic dinner table sides.
- The first brick-and-mortar GG’s Chicken Shop opened earlier this year in Chicago and this new location in Downtown Disney District will be its first on the West Coast.
A new, unnamed, bar
- A second story bar will be an al fresco spot offering great views to sip signature craft cocktails and mocktails from mixologists who infuse, muddle, stir, shake and swizzle the freshest mixes using local ingredients and artful garnishes.
- Refreshing selections will include frozen lemonades, frozés, espresso martinis, shareable cocktails and spirit-free elixirs.
Porto’s Bakery and Cafe
- Porto’s Bakery and Cafe will replace the current Earl of Sandwich Tavern and bring their famous California-Cuban cheese rolls, pastries, food and beverage (MORE INFO)
Din Tai Fung
- Din Tai Fung will offer guests their signature soup dumplings hand crafted right on site!
- This family-run restaurant will bring flavorful Chinese cuisine to Downtown Disney, where guests can enjoy dishes served family style in a creative space near the new lawn pavilion. (MORE INFO)
- Opening Summer 2024.
Paseo and Centrico and Tiendita
- Paseo and Centrico are two new Mexican-inspired concepts from Patina Group and Michelin-starred Chef Carlos Gaytan who will bring his inclusive vision of Mexican cuisine to life with a multi-sensory journey to the heart of his homeland. The Paseo upstairs dining room and the first floor Céntrico courtyard bar and restaurant will offer upscale Mexican cuisine and tequila-based cocktails (MORE INFO)

- All three locations are expected to open May 2024
Earl of Sandwich
- The new Earl of Sandwich will be an all-new, two-story location with a quick-service Earl of Sandwich shop on the ground level and a table-service gastropub upstairs. (MORE INFO)
All of these new venues join the current roster of Downtown Disney offerings including Splitsville Luxury Lanes, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes, Ballast Point Brewing Co., Naples Ristorante e Bar, Wetzel’s Pretzel, PANDORA Jewelry, Lovepop, California Sole and World of Disney.
