Since the unexpected hiatus to Fantasmic! at Disneyland following the devastating fire that ruined the show’s large dragon animatronic, the evenings along the Rivers of America have been decidedly dark. Now, with a temporary new artsy piece, Disney is helping bridge that gap with the new water and projection light show, The Heartbeat of New Orleans – A Living Mural.

The show is performed several times per night utilizing the projection, lighting, and fountains already in place for Fantasmic! Debuting on September 29, 2023, the nighttime offering promises a dynamic jazz score and projections on the Rivers of America to tell a short, whimsical, tale of a mischievous little frog. On its journey the bayou frog that leaps into the lively heartbeat of New Orleans when and is lured by the jazzy sounds heard in the distance.

The show is performed nightly along the Rivers of America with typical showtimes of 7:55pm, 8:55pm, and 9:50pm but you should always check the Disneyland app on the day of your visit to confirm details. There is no need to arrive early as the simple show does not draw crowds.
