Don’t forget to factor into your travel plans at the Disnelyand Resort that the Disneyland Monorail will be down for refurbishment from April 11 – May 19!
During this time the monorail tracks, beams, and trains will be undergoing inspection and refurbishment.
While the attraction was the first daily operating monorail in the Western Hemisphere (and the first in the United States) its intended purpose as a method of conveyance never came quite to full fruition in a meaningfully useful way at the Disneyland Resort.
Where as Walt Disney World makes extensive use of an intricate system of monorails to transport guests around the massive property, the monorail in California serves more functionally as an attraction. With only two stops between the Disneyland Hotel and Disneyland’s Tomorrowland, it serves more effectively for a quick tour around the Resort than a means of getting from one end of the relatively small Resort to the other.
