Helping to fill the massive gap left following the unexpected closure of Fantasmic! earlier this year, Disneyland confirmed a new small offering to help soak up the busy fall season crowds with the announcement of The Heartbeat of New Orleans – A Living Mural.

Beginning September 29, 2023, the  new limited-time nighttime entertainment offering promises a dynamic jazz score, projections on the Rivers of America. Billed as “unique art installation” it will feature original artwork by Disney Live Entertainment graphic designer Marcella “Marci” Swett, (whose work you might have seen in the form of chalk art i Downtown Disney during Celebrate Soulfully).

It will will tell a short, whimsical tale of a mischievous little frog from the bayou that leaps into the lively heartbeat of New Orleans when he is lured by the jazzy sounds he hears in the distance.  It is expected to run nightly during the holiday season along with Queenie and the Jambalaya Jazz Band which can already be seen along the Rivers of America.
