Cartoon Voices are an indelible part of the pop culture zeitgeist and although the faces of these people may not be familiar, the sounds they are able to make with their voices can instantly conjure characters, stories, cherished memories, and even tears.
This year at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, moderator Mark Evanier assembled a fantastic roster of some of the most-heard performers in the world of animation once again at San Diego Comic-Con for a look into their experiences within the industry.
Mark Evanier shared that he is a proud striking writer and as such this year’s panel took a slightly different turn. Rather than focusing on the specific characters and projects that these talented individuals are known for creating, they instead talked more broadly about the industry, how they got their starts, and the crazy — dare we say cartoonish — experiences they’ve had both in and out of the recording booth.
Panelists this year included Keith Scott, Elle Newlands, Bill Farmer, Dave Fennoy, Jessica DiCicco, and Adam McArthur.
A memorable moment was Bill Farmer sharing a funny story about doing audio recording for a Goofy watch.
Mark Evanier always loves doing impromptu live table reads of random scripts assigning random parts to the assembled panel all with unexpected results.
See it for Yourself
