Keith Scott was a busy man at San Deigo Comic-Con 2023. As one of the top voice actors and impressionists in Australia, he’s also an expert on cartoon voices for theatrical cartoons and shared his knowledge for fans.

Making a relatively rare visit to America this year in promotion of his book (Cartoon Voice of the Golden Age, 1930-70 Vol. 1), Keith Scott was happy to share anecdotes, stories, and fun facts about the history of greats such as Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, June Foray, Walt Disney, and many you’ve never heard of.

Moderator Mark Evanier also assembled historians Leonard Maltin and Jerry Beck for a historical conversation about how the cartoons learned to talk from the earliest talkies with Betty Boop and Popeye to the refined efforts that truly were a golden age from the 1930s onward.
