The Super Nintendo World expansion at Universal Studios Hollywood is a super interactive taste of everyone’s favorite video game where details are bursting around every corner.

A small detail that receives very little fanfare can actually be found by exploring a not-so secret upper level of the land where you’ll find interactive elements to play with including augmented reality (AR) binoculars which offer an enhanced view of the Mushroom Kingdom!

Near the Bowser Jr. Shadow Showdown Power-Up Band experience, to the side of warp tunnel that exits you out of the land, you’ll find an unassuming doorway that leads to a pair of stairs (you can ask a Team Member for assistance with the unmarked elevator) that take you up to a “secret level” within the land. It’s listed on the Universal Studios mobile app if you’re having trouble finding it.

Here, you’ll find additional interactive blocks to punch with your Power-Up Band and a pair of AR interactive binoculars — set at a tall height and a not-so-tall height. Each offers fun overlays onto a live view of the land with characters cameos and other fun surprises as you look around.

Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Hollywood officially opened on February 17, 2023 and is now open daily.

The new Super Nintendo World expansion is located inside of Universal Studios Hollywood park and access is included with regular park admission. Super Nintendo World is not a separate theme park.
