Oogie Boogie Bash is first and foremost a Disney Halloween Party at Disney California Adventure and what kind of soiree would it be if there wasn’t loads of treats?
During the after-hours, separate-admission, party, guests can stuff their trick-or-treat bags with sweet treats (with healthier options too including apple slices, carrots, and pretzels!) and also come face-to-face with a myriad of Disney characters — many of which can only be seen during the event!
We visited this year for the 2022 Halloween Time season and are happy to share our peek at the candy and characters we enjoyed during Oogie Boogie Bash 2022! ENJOY!
Immersive Treat Trails
The Candy
When you check in for Oogie Boogie Bash, you are given your event wristband and a handy (little) bag to hold your candy. We brought an extra backpack which served as the perfect backup to hold even more treats once our bags got full! We saw other astute treaters filling pillow cases and merch bags throughout the night.
Don’t forget to grab an event map which highlights all the Immersive Treat Trails and there’s no limit to how many times you go through each one!

The Characters
The Immersive Treat Trails also pack an extra special treat with a character appearance! This year, new characters (who you can only see during the event) include Bruno from ENCANTO, Mother Gothel from TANGLED, Mad Madm Mim from THE SWORD IN THE STONE, and a special appearance by Minnie, Daisy, and Clarabelle dressed as the Sanderson Sisters.
And don’t forget, there’s QR code on your event wristband which you can use to scan for complimentary PhotoPass downloads all night long!

Cruella, as she’s seen in her film last year, is like a spider waiting for the kill in Hollywood Land.
Sid brought all of his toys to blow up play with safely during the event in Pixar Pier!

Blue Fairy is greeting guests in Carthay Circle along with Merlin.

Dr. Facilier worked out a deal with his friends on the other side for a special appearance near the Golden Zephyr.
Lightning McQueen is dressed as a super hero and Mater as a vampire. Red as a clown and Cruz as a Pirate are usually out, as well.
Of course, as the namesake for the whole event, you better believe you can spot Oogie Boogie himself! Head into Disney Animation!

Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party returns to Disney California Adventure on select nights September 6 – October 31, 2022! The separate-ticket, after park-hours, event is completely sold out for the 2022 season but you can always ask at the ticket booths or Guest Relations day-of for potential availability!
