Another crucial piece of the Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina experience is returning this soon with the confirmation that its signature ‘AMA ‘AMA oceanside restaurant will be reopening Fall 2022.

‘AMA ʻAMA is located adjacent to Off the Hook in the Waikolohe Valley pool area, near the entrance to the beach. The popular upscale location will be reimagined as a dinner-only dining experience with a menu featuring locally-inspired dishes, cocktails, wines, and desserts.

Disney Imagineer Jeanette Lomboy, who has had an influential hand in the devleopment in the resort, is part of the team that ensures a deep backstory. Guess will encounter familiar details seemingly left by generations of family members, including Aulani’s beloved Aunty and Uncle characters. The story posits that they inhabited this space and continued to expand on it over time.

New light fixtures inspired by traditional Hawaiian fish baskets and a central light fixture composed of fin-like elements that swim above the entrance, enhance the connection between the restaurant and its namesake, the ‘ama‘ama fish –historically the most abundant and vital fish of Hawai‘i.
